Cobra Question True or False
In a resent article in ReInCarNation, Grey Phantom Ls3 Powered Shell Valley Cobra - ReinCarNation Magazine The author wrote "Ironically enough, years later Cobras raced in Europe with Chevy engines". By years later does he mean non -Shelby factory cobra's maybe AC or Autocraft?. Is this true? I have searched the internet, my older cobra books and have not found any mention of this. Maybe you guys can shed some light on the subject.

European rules are tough.
Very specific and to 60's standard. Why do the Chevy guys always try to get s bow tie in these cars? A stock Kirkham does not pass by itself guessing a 327 would not make it closer in tech. "false" is my vote based on cars leaving the US I have seen getting prepped for Europe. |

Lately it seems so much a waste of energy to be concerned about what powers our kit/repli cars must be the senior thing. The lumps of iron or aluminum are all from the same source, the earth. I never understood the purists not accepting anything but the FE in our kit/repli cars when the more modern 385 series was so available.
Have to admit though for years was big into Chevrolet still always loved all monikers. It is after all what makes the big blue ball revolve. |

the historic racing in europe is ruled as in every other country by the FIA-HTP (historical technical passport), that means for race cars, which were homologated in the past like the cobra 289, to be in the exact technical condition as homlogated in 1963, and additionally to prove most of the modern safety requirements,

It could mean nothing more than when the original Ford motors wore out in the '60s or '70s the Europeans swapped in a motor that was more readily available at the time. Pretty common stuff.
