Identify cobra
It could be an early Classic Roadster. What wheelbase does it have 90 or 104? You might get some information from Bill Emerson .Of Emerson Roadsters His site was cobraemers@aol.com. Phone @ the shop was 530 222 2063 He is a very nice guy , he knows his Cobras and the Cobra world.. Good Luck.

any reason to dis-believe the vin tag ?
some obvious clues are:
battery in top center of firewall
no back brace on roll bar
external trunk hinges
Car & engine look nicely put together.

Not a CR - there's no distinctive CR 'kink' in the door opening. BTW, CR's had 94" (or 94.5") wheelbases. I'm not aware of any Cobra with a 104" WB, that would be a 14" stretch from the original 90" WB.

Uhhhh, you might want to check that battery again, unless they're making them out of red bull cans in Costa Rica.

Perhaps somebody thought Red Bull cans would dress up the AGM cells. Not a bad idea, actually, though my AGM battery is in a sealed box, therefore moot.

I was thinking Optima red top, with the circular cells. Maybe the builder glued red bull can skins on them as a joke?

Don't know of anybody that makes a 12V gel cell system with only 3 cells.
It's Costa Rica....probably some sort of inboard pot dryer.

Its just a standard Optima Red top (6 cell) with 3 Red bull can skins glued to the face.
Makes for a conversation piece and its working....

Assuming this is correct - and it was my first impression also - how the heck do you change the battery out on that thing??? Pull the body? There can't be enough room between the engine and the cowl to remove/replace it unless there is enough room above to tilt the front up and slide over the intake.

After much examination, and careful consideration...it is a CMC.
