FIA exhaust systems...
Hi All,
Wooooould anyone know if the side exhaust tubing on 2345 or 2431 is 2.5 or 3"? I presume the muffler is .5" larger? Thank you for any knowledge you can share. Mike. |

Thank you for the response. I had read that thread and used that diagram to layout the pipes. I've been trying to position them accurately, but based on the drawing, they are way under the car. So I was wondering if they pipes or the radii may be a bit different, resulting in the visual difference. 289 info is pretty sparse on the forum, but all is appreciated!! Thank you again, Mike. |
Hi Mike-
The main tubing on both cars you asked about (2345 and 2431) is 3 inch, and the "fake muffler" sections were roughly 24-25 inch sections of 3.5" tubing (most guys substitute a 3.5 inch glasspack in modern replicas) CSX2558 was another usrrc car that also had a sidepipe configuration very similar to the pipes on CSX2431 and CSX2345... |
