I wondered about the body, looks like the doors and trunk don't fit correctly.
Was the body straight when you saw it? Jim |
3000-4000? Try dropping a 0.
Seriously. It's been sitting around for a long time. Several owners. Why do you think it hasn't been finished? For what it would cost to fix this thing you could buy a Backdraft. |
To do it correctly you will drop $20,000 to $30,000 in it and thousands of hours.
Pass on this one and save yourself a lot of money. There are cheaper cars for sale that you can drive home. |
Thanks to everyone that responded to my post on this Cobra kit car.
I think you're right -- too much work, time and money to build it. I can't afford a finished car, so I'll just keep looking for an unfinished car that's worth it to build. Jim |
You can borrow money from the credit union on a finished Cobra with an appraisal. Put the $7,000 down and make payments like I did. You were going to spend a thousand or so every month on finishing the project Cobra. Just make payments and drive now.
It's a lot cheaper. Last month I saved $40,000 by not buying an $1,100 Fairlane. :) Dwight |
Dwight,
I don't do payments anymore. I had been in debt since age 17, and 2 years ago at age 67 I finally got everything paid off including our home. Unless I sell the 63 Econoline Pro Street pickup I have listed here and on Craiglist, I'll have to find an unfinished kit and go that route. Thanks, Jim |
