Default Rain Cover for my Cobra

I am looking for cover for my car, does anyone know of a vendor selling something? I am looking for more of a custom cover that won't have the possibility of scratching my car like a standard tarp and bungee cords may do. I am considering going to the London show and want to be prepared. Rich

Spitfun,

You might try California Car Cover. I got one of theirs, I believe called the Superweave. You may also try Covercraft, the similar one there I believe was the WeatherShield HP.

These can both offer Cobra configurations. You may also try searching this site if not already as there are some threads including that topic I believe. There are certainly other good options and price ranges.

Mine is not as industrial outdoor duty as some may be, nor is it as tightly form shape fitted as some, yet still configured for the Cobra shape. These can be specified for rollbars, mirrors, etc. if I recall properly.

I went with an indoor/outdoor combo that had relatively high feature sets/qualities covering both. It's lightweight, soft, and loose 'enough' fitting to not easily scratch/pull across the paint. It packs relatively small and is (commercial) machine washable. 'Breathability' was something I was looking for to help control moisture/condensation/mildew in case covered for any extended periods. Some of the features I was after.

There are options to tie across under the car to hold better in outdoor environments.

Best of luck. Brent

I think what I'm looking for is a elastic fitted, soft on the inside and a vinyl or similar material on the outside. I do have a California cover for inside the garage, they are very high quality.

A crazy thought, but one made of thin neoprene wet suit material would be rather cool. Could also be made in colour and stripes to suit car, and be made to fit like a errr glove.

I have an emergency rain cover that I found on Amazon. It is made as a shipping cover so that is how to look it up. It's clear, elastic bottom that hugs the car under the body and tight around the tires. If you order, get the small. Mine has seen some serious wind and rain with no problems or tears. As I recall you can get it in various thicknesses but all of them are pretty light. I got the heaviest one and it packs up like a big raincoat and I keep it in the trunk. Saved my rear in a couple of huge Texas style thunderstorms that just popped up in minutes and rained about 6 inches, then gone. We stayed in the car on the side of the road.....quiet an experience.

That is my yellow Cobra in the picture you posted with a $10 WalMart tarp.

I bought a $40 car cover for a small car (13') and used it for years.
Most of the time I would put the cheap car cover on with the $10 tarp over it so the interior would not get wet when it rained.
After several years I did not put the $10 tarp on one night when it rained, a lot. There was probably four gallons of water on the cover the next morning.
But there wasn't any water on the inside.
After that I used the cover only.

I have a couple of $300 covers but I don't think they work any better than the $80 ones.

Just order a custom car cover for a small 13' car. Most are rated waterproof which should work.

Dwight

Try Empire Covers [info@empirecovers.com] they have line of cobra covers at very reasonable prices - from indoor storage only to full outdoor weather protection.
