Inside NAF Bucket Seat Details Wanted
I bought one NAF leather bucket seat, and can't seem to find another.
I was thinking of taking it apart and trying to duplicate the insides of it,
then have my upholstery guy copy the seat cover in leather. Hopefully, we can
match the grain pattern.
What I need to know is what's inside the seat ? Is it a metal frame or a fiberglass unit ?
Thanks,
Jim

That kind of look like the old seats in my Cobra and they were fiberglass with a metal pan in the bottom.
From the way the top section of the vinyl is glued to the bottom area and that is a large radius, I would guess it is fiberglass.

Another option is to use the seat you have as the passenger seat and purchase a Racing style seat from Summit with a black seat cover with padding. Won’t match but will look acceptable overall.

My NAF,kit manufactured in 1984 (#143) originally had the fiberglass buckets with a plywood seat bottom. No steel frame or bottom.
I had custom seats made and sold the original NAF buckets many years ago.
Cheers

I took the seat out of box today, and got a good look at it.
Bottom line is the seat is too nice to take apart. The seat frame appears to be molded fiberglass, and is
made very well. Not sure I would be able to duplicate it.
So...…..back to looking for another seat.
Thanks,
Jim
