Default Cobra 427 chassis instruction book

I have a cobra 427 chassis instruction book and I was hoping someone might be able to give me some sort of idea of the value of this.I have no idea if it is original or not. I have had it for about 20 years.I find no where in the book does it say reprint or reproduction. Thanks for any help

They usually didn't misspell the company name on the first page.

Clearly an ultra-rare misprint edition. You know, like the Inverted Jenny. If I collected such things, I would snap it up immediately....

Maybe we should be a bit more forgiving.

The Dragon Lady typed them all up herself, one by one.

I remember seeing one for sale a year or two ago that was signed on the cover by Shelby and a couple of others. The asking price was $200. I do not know whether it was original or not. You used to see fake manuals everywhere. I honestly haven't run across them that much lately.

EDIT -- Finishline has the fakes for $25 Finish Line Inc.--Moto-Lita premium steering wheel importers.

This is the right place.

I do know.

You have been told the book is a repro, so no one should be ripped off, right?
They have been making repros for decades.

But since you asked, it is very difficult to prove the authenticity of questioned documents to the 100% level. It is usually very easy to declare a fake a fake. If a document looks right, has no obvious mistakes, and has a lineage that looks right, then the next step is to analyze the paper, ink, and typeset. Really good fakes (forget Cobra manuals) are made with period correct paper and ink. Nobody is going to put much effort in to faking the Cobra manual; it's just not worth the effort.

It seems to me that if someone is going to copy an original handbook, they will scan one, not re-type what they read from an original. My vote is there was a misprint in the original. It may have been fixed in later printings, but that does not positively invalidate any given "copy".
