Default Elliott Windscreen Mfrs Tag

Where do I install it? On the inside of the windshield, or on the outside? What size screws?

Thanks

On a 427 it goes on the inside center of the frame, and I think the same is true of the small-block cars. I believe they used tiny brass flathead screws, not sure the size. I didn’t want to drill into the frame so I actually cut the heads off two screws, then used silicone to attach the medallion to the frame and the screw heads to the medallion. I’d post pics but I don’t own that particular car any more and my current one has a mirror attached right where the medallion is supposed to go so it wasn’t an issue

Here’s a (slightly blurry) shot of the type of screws used with the Beclawat windscreen badge.

Sorry the pic is small but I can’t get it to post the full-size. It’s in my gallery at any rate.

I can’t seem to find a pic of an Elliott badge but just noticed that the folks at the Cobra Experience sell them. They have a number of original 289 cars upstairs so you might give Emily a call there. She could probably send you a pic or two and they may sell the mounting screws. 510-719-7199.

When you drill the holes in the frame and tap them use a feeler gauge between the glass and the frame area you are making the hole in if you are leaving the window in, otherwise you will break the windshield.
