self bleeders
Does anybody have comments on the special bleeders which let one person bleed the brakes? Do they work well? Are they available in various threads or only one or two? I have new willwood calipers which have four bleeders per. Only the two highest will need bleeding if I understand correctly.

I found that when loosened the bleeders will leak air around the threads. Have you tried a Mity-Vac? They have a smaller hand held unit that seats you right at the caliper except when refilling the reservoir.

I use the speed bleeders on everything-----------I can bleed an entire complicated system in less than 10 minutes by myself--------much easier than finding someone who can handle---------push, hold, release, pump, hold release dozens of times

With 4 bleeders per caliper, it gives you the advantage of checking for any fluid contamination debris that might not come out as part of a fluid flushing procedure.
You can do this from any bleeder facing down. Any bleeder facing up is to pull or push new fluid through, and to ensure any air is bled out through the top of the caliper.
Willwood makes their calipers this way, so there is no need for "lefts and rights", and gives the customer options for front or rear mounted calipers on each wheel.

I used this from Amazon and it worked great on my Corvette Z06. I's $20.55 with free Prime shipping. It uses an air compressor to form a vacuum and suck out the fluid. I had to change out the quick connect on the unit to one compatible with ones I have. I have a mity vac and could not make it work.

I agree with Jerry. I love these things. On a track car, you need to bleed the brakes 5-6 times a year. The speed bleeders make it a quick and easy task.

+1 on Speed Bleeders. I’ve used them on track and street cars for years, and have started using them on my track and street bikes recently, as well. If you’ve ever replaced a hydraulic throwout bearing before, they are absolutely worth their weight in gold.

Wilwood recommends a 3 person bleed. I have their dual master set up with balance bar. Front/back simultaneously and right side first. OS bleeder first, IS, OS.
You may want to contact Wilwood for a recommendation.

Get the speed bleeders with the thread sealant already applied. I think Dorman carries them. They should be good for a number of brake bleeding events - you don't need to loosen them much for them to bleed fluid. If you do eventually get one that you suspect is starting to leak around the threads, then get some orange thread locker that is meant to seal thread connections that are loosened from time to time and apply some of it. Speed bleeders make bleeding brakes far simpler.

I have used this one for several years. It is a must have on new cars with anti breaking systems.
I can bleed the brakes on a car in 30 minutes by myself.
I have seen a small unit advertised for $20 - $30. I would buy one but I have the OTC unit.

Speed Bleededrs
Have used them on motorcycles and they are EXCELLENT. The only negative is obtaining the right speed bleeder for the application. Honestly, I am not really good with thread sizes/lengths and supply houses do not carry a rack of these things that one can compare side by side. Typically, Speed Bleeder does not list my application on their charts and that leaves me guessing which ones to order.
They do save time and easy to use.
Highly recommend.
Wish I had one on the Backdraft clutch cylinder slave valve.

I have used them with good results. Just be careful you don't over tighten them. They can be crushed if you over tighten. I also second the comment on reapplying thread sealer if you use them often.

Anyone use a pressure bleeder? Seems like it would accomplish the same thing - a quick, one person bleed. Of course, your car would have to have a reservoir that the bleeder would connect to, probably wouldn't work with the 3 cans.
