Replacing MSD Magnetic Pickup

Hey everyone.

To be as brief as possible I've been having issues with the way the car has been running. Specifically stalling, hard starting, Tach bouncing and all of it happening after the car was running for a while. I traced it to the ignition system. Was going to have the MSD 6AL unit bench tested next week. I decided to do an ohm reading on the magnetic pickup and got nothing. Thought it was unusual because the car was running but not well. Decided to take it out and swap it for the extra new one that I had. Turns out there was a break in one of the leads underneath the insulation that was intermittently making a connection. Car has a Pro Billet distributor and is 7 years old. I never expected the difficulty in order to get that damn magnetic pickup out. I know there are different kinds of Pro Billet Distributors but this one was a real pain in the ass as you can see from the picture. I had to literally take the top part of the distributor apart on the bench to get at Allen heads that were underneath the plate and even then I could only grab them with a needle nose to loosen the unit. Hope you never have to go through this. LOL The good news is the car is running like a top after an hour test drive.
