Default Arntz Small Block Chevy Cobra Valve Covers?

Long shot, but did anyone ever make Cobra valve covers for a small block Chevy motor ?

Arntz built Cobras that usually used small block or big block Chevy powerplants. I'm running a late 70's Corvette 4 bolt main 350 with a Muncie 4 speed, and thought it would be nice to have a set of Cobra lettered valve covers that didn't say "powered by Ford".

The motor currently has a set of new fabricated aluminum valve covers that I could add a Cobra emblem to.

Thanks,

Jim

Do a Google. I had nice aluminum valve covers custom engraved for my BBC, many years ago. Said "Powered by Ford" and then in smaller print: "NOT"

Can't believe how many people didn't catch the "not" and really scratched they heads about how a "Ford" could have the distributor in the back.

I have the same issue. I have an early 70's Arntz Cobra and am about to install a BluePrint crate 383. Thos valve covers would be awesome.

Search on eBay. Last time I checked about a year ago, the adapters were available.

As a cheap alternative I just stuck a Cobra Emblem on each of my standard finned chevy valve covers on the oil filler cap and a cutout boss on the other side - looks great.

Must admit I would prefer what you are looking for.

I bought a set of cast aluminum adapters from a hot rod shop in Sun Valley about 40 years ago. Even with the best molded silicone gaskets they leaked. The Cobra Lemans covers looked great on my SBC, but no matter what I did, there was always a small dribble from the lower edge on both sides. I have reinstalled them from time to time, but always have the same issue. If it was a show car, I would probably put up with it. But, as a rally car that gets driven lots of miles, I cannot stand it.

I have recently given thought that maybe the problem is porosity through the aluminum. If I painted the 3 edges (that do not show) with some kind of oil resistant paint, that might stop the leak. However, I have a great set of cast aluminum chrome covers that look great and never leak, so I am not very motivated to change them. I just run Ford Performance breathers and a distributor-less ignition system, so no one realizes what engine it is until I ask them to figure it out. When they look at the exhaust headers they get it. It's a fun game at a car show.
