Default Arntz 1959 AC

Hi all.
I’m new to the group and looking for information. I have been looking for a Cobra Replica for several years now off and on. I just have seen an ad for an Arntz kit 1959 AC Cobra Not far from here and am looking for advise on these kits. This car has an actual AC Bristol ID plate and I’m wondering if this is the norm for these kits. I would really appreciate any info on this type of kit.
Thanks for letting me join and any info from the group.

Cobra Make, Engine: Don't think I'll be getting a Cobra for a long time... Do have '94 RX-7 R2.

In the early days of kit cars, I think some people used to try to use the serial number of an existing car that was junked. It might have been an "easy" way to get a kit car registered for road use at the time.

These days states have all kinds of regulations on how to properly register kit cars. Some states will use the serial number from the kit car manufacturer. Other states will issue a completely new serial number. I don't know of any state that will allow you to use the serial number of a wrecked car currently.

I am not sure I would feel comfortable with a car registered with the serial number of a wrecked car from 1959. If you buy the car you might need to get it registered with a proper serial number according the rules from your state.
