Default What do I have?

I just purchased a 1965 Shelby Cobra Replica and it has a brass tag on it with the VIN starting with "HMC84DC2D00005 and it also states it is a Shetley Chassis #00005, Built in 1984. Is this anything to get excited about with a Holman and Moody connection. I reached out to H&M and received a very interesting reply from Lee Holman ripping Shetley up and down saying he was a junk builder and everyone tries to tie that car to Holman and Moody, although he did not know that this was a barn find car and has been stored since 1992. It was not the kind of email you would think would come from that organization, obviously some very bad blood.
Would appreciate any help.

just guessing, but couldn't the "HM" in the VIN signify "home made"...?

Thanks so much, I had found that also and actually called Ron at the number and he only made 18 but all had windows so it is not one of his and he thinks it is more than likely a Moody and Shetley built car that I have. He recommended that I track down Mike Shetley and verify.

Nice looking car.

Can you check you have a typo here?

I count 4 zeros, not 5 zeros, on your plate.

HMC84DC29000005 and it also states it is a Shetley Chassis #000005

I am surprised nobody said anything about the drivers seat. I thought it to be very nice.

I'd be interested in seeing the front and rear suspension due to the four bolt front and five bolt rear wheels.

No matter what you find out, please drive and enjoy your car.

You'll find that Nissan Sentras with loud mufflers, landscaping company trucks, maybe an occasional cop, etc will want to race.

That's well spotted.

I see the 4 bolt fronts, but are the rears also 4 bolt?
