There was another Kirkham a few years ago that sold around the $90k not including the auction fee. Had all the nice suspension and other cool guy parts. Kirkham told him when he was building it some people wouldn't want all that "stuff". Lot's of us get carried away personalizing the cars. Cool BUT if ya ever sell it it can bite ya in the butt.

I saw exactly the same thing happen to an online Gooding auction for a first-rate Lotus Elan that sold for 50% of market value, at no reserve. The Lotus then showed up on BAT a few weeks later and sold at market price (2xGooding). My conclusion is that the Gooding online auctions really are a "crap shoot," especially at no (or low) reserve.
