Replica sold at Barrett Jackson for $935k
Explain this:
https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Even...SX-4404-246107 Continuation CSX or “replica”, whatever you call it, almost a million? |
Wow!!
That is amazing. Is there something we are missing... or just a couple of guys with more money than un-pickled brain cells?
|
not the first replica sold for a million, but at least this car has a correctly assigned VIN
|
Quite possibly an uninformed buyer who mistook the CSX number for one of the originals and not a continuation, or too much alcohol. A fool and his money are soon parted.... They will never get their money back on that.
|
Hmmm...
Maybe the buyer just had to have an aluminum Super Snake. Sadly, it's not a very good replica in one respect - it doesn't have the automatic! Tom |
It stalled at $300k. Then Craig and Steve told everyone it was worth more and they listened. I just don't understand it, it still is not an original Cobra.
|
On the flip side, the Lance Reventlow 289 Cobra csx2032, only got to $825k. Nice car too.

Csx2032

Taken Thursday before Saturday auction.

I think because they kept saying Shelby made the car Shelby did this Shelby did that the buyer thought that Carol Shelby himself actually had something to do with it.
Even if he did wow! Booze and crypto cash |
Yeah, kinda silly to pay that much for something you could probably do for 200K-250K or so.
|
Wow, if your going to make a replica, do it right! Besides the automatic, the plenums are all wrong, and the Paxton's should be blue, and that is as far as I want to look! Having said that, $300,000 is probably not to off the mark, since it is a car made before Shelby passed. Also. the high bidder at 300, probably could never assembled this car, so not to bad. We all know what kind of contest it became, when the second new bidder came in!
|
It's called "Instant Gratification" with (I'm sure) a little alcohol throwed in for good measure ;) Jackson said something about the Super Snake going to a home that has Shelby's already there?? Did anyone else catch that ?? The "Lance Reventlow" car (I Believe) would have brought more money if restored back to original, if you read the listing, it was made into a (vintage) race car by a past owner, Zero real race history. Lance ordered it with every option to help Shelby's bottom-line and get started in the Cobra business. White with red int, and every option except the Kidney Bean wheels. The GT-350 "257" was I think right on the money, for such a rare 350. I spent the last 90days doing homework on a few of these cars. Cheers guy's TommyRot.

Not 1 sec required to decide
I would have definitely taken CSX2032 and not CSX4404 Because of the: -Shifter knob -Webers -Dirty old wiring -……. -..... -..... |
CSX3015, one of the original Super Snakes was sold for 5.5 Mio. last year. That ist 3-4 times more than a "normal" 427, so the relation of CSX4404 to other CSX4000 series cars is the same...
|
WAY too much alcohol involved! Absolutely ridiculous. When he wakes up this morning he’s going to realize how much money that just cost him!
|
Alky and a honey hangin off his arm pushing him for the cute car :JEKYLHYDE:D
