Craft Performance Engines closed???
I tried to order a new engine about 3 weeks back and read on the Craft Performance website that they were closing their doors and paying off creditors.
Anybody know why this happened?
Hopefully they will be able to refund any pending orders for engines and parts.

It's all in the hands of lawyers. The "come get your stuff" day was last week or so. Didn't hear anything about anyone here going to visit.

I tried searching the site and nothing showed up. Guess you need to be very specific about how the search is worded.
Why does Club Cobra still have Craft as an advertiser? Seems like this is something they would not want to promote, especially with a dead website?
Sorry to see them go.

That is still no excuse Brent has a fiduciary to the forum members that were defrauded, anyway what's Lance going to say "hey I paid for a full year"
Then Brent can tell him that he will get a refund for the balance only the money will go to the members that were screwed over.
That type of behavior always nulls and voids a contract.

Receiving payment for advertising in no way creates a fiduciary responsibility on the part of the payee, even if the ad is left up after the payer goes into receivership.
I'm writing as someone who, for years, had a fiduciary responsibility.

So you are saying that Brent should not be looking out or having the backs of the forum members?
There are members who contribute to this site, are advertising dollars more valued
then members dollars?

Good luck with that. It would be a far reaching precedent if so.
Do you really think that whoever bought Craft went into it with the intent of driving it into the ground and going bankrupt? I see no signs of fraud, just incompetence and mismanagement. And more likely a victim of the Covid business fiasco.

You're misinterpreting what I wrote. Fiduciary responsibility is a much higher standard than one applicable to the normal conduct of business and, as such, is therefore not applicable to owning and managing a website - even if that includes receiving money for advertising and membership.
" Fiduciary duties in a financial sense exist to ensure that those who manage other people's money act in their beneficiaries' interests, rather than serving their own interests.
" A fiduciary duty is the highest standard of care in equity or law. A fiduciary is expected to be extremely loyal to the person to whom he owes the duty (the "principal") such that there must be no conflict of duty between fiduciary and principal, and the fiduciary must not profit from their position as a fiduciary (unless the principal consents). The nature of fiduciary obligations differs among jurisdictions."
" When a fiduciary duty is imposed, equity requires a different, stricter standard of behavior than the comparable tortious duty of care in common law. The fiduciary has a duty not to be in a situation where personal interests and fiduciary duty conflict, not to be in a situation where their fiduciary duty conflicts with another fiduciary duty, and a duty not to profit from their fiduciary position without knowledge and consent. A fiduciary ideally would not have a conflict of interest. It has been said that fiduciaries must conduct themselves "at a level higher than that trodden by the crowd" and that "[t]he distinguishing or overriding duty of a fiduciary is the obligation of undivided loyalty.""
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiduciary
I believe it's also important to refute your inference that those individuals or businesses paid to run advertising should somehow have a responsibility to guarantee the integrity and financial solvency of advertisers. First, there's no precedent I know of where the courts have held this to be a requirement. Second, this would be a massive 'slippery slope' in that the risk of so doing would then mean few would accept advertising and the costs of doing so would be astronomical - eliminating the advertisers.

Ok were good This will be my last post on this subject, it has obviously fallen on deaf ears. Silly me I always thought the cobra community was much tighter.

I guess I just don't share your proclivity to take to the streets with a burning pitchfork without a rational reason to do so.
Whatever happened to caveat emptor?
ca·ve·at emp·tor
/ˌkavēˌät ˈem(p)ˌtôr/
noun
the principle that the buyer alone is responsible for checking the quality and suitability of goods before a purchase is made.
