Why not the unit from ERA? Want to see what it looks like installed, come on down and I'll pull 2080 out of the back of the garage.

Hey Otto, if its for an ERA, just call them, they may sell you the whole kit to install it. If its not for an ErA, go aftermarket, there are choices. Start with Maradyne to get ideas for your project. They have all kinds to choose from. My west coast cobra went even simpler with a small ford heater core in a custom core box.

vintage air has some great options and some nice controls to pick from

I bought the kit from ERA for the one that I had, was a fairly easy install and worked well.

As a point of obscure ERA trivia, if you opt for the standard dash configuration, and install a heater, you sometimes have to switch the oil pressure and temperature gages.

I should have stated it’s for a future superformance purchase , not the era in my profile

Bob,

From what I recall, other than the FIA, all Superformance cars come with a heater/defroster standard. What model are you looking at?

Jim

Mark II street car

Check with Mark IV (Rick) to verify, but from what I saw on the website and at looking at Rick's Mark II street car in person, they come standard with heater/defroster. My FIA has no defroster vents or heater, but the Mark II's come with them.

Things have changed heater setup is around 1200. and the wire wheels once included in the roller price are now an option too

Bob,

You might want to verify that if you do not purchase the heater/defroster from Superformance, that the vents for the defroster will be installed. Aftermarket heater/defrosters may not include the vents and if you have to cut them in yourself, it may not be that easy, especially with the windshield in place.

Good luck.

I agree will need to look into it
thanks Bob

If the heater/defroster is not purchased on a 289, no defroster vents are installed. They can be ordered as a stand-alone option.

Yes, there has been some "de-contenting" by Superformance.

mrmustang 01-03-2023 06:47 AM

$1,200 for the heater/defroster option, maybe a typo?

If not, there are always the ceramic seat heaters you can install for much less.

Finally, they make a really nice heated vest for motorcycle riders I've heard also work well.

The tried and true Maradyne 5000, which ERA uses and I have, is available off Amazon for $181. https://www.amazon.com/Maradyne-H-50.../dp/B007S7OHSE And for a thousand bucks I might hop a plane and put it in for you.

Well that's kind of sad. Purchasers should not be discontent with their new SPF.

You think $1200 is bad. The same thing on a CSX 8000 is $2750 which should be the same as the SPF Mark II.
