Double secret probation on BAT

Apparently I called out BAT one too many times about misclassification of older FFR's and now I apparently cannot place comments on any auctions without BAT first reviewing them (delayed by days), even if I'm the high bidder
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/fa...2-roadster-18/

Tried to ask another simple question, something about the car being built in 2000, per the sellers own admission, and the MK 2 FFR not coming out till May 2002, but the post now shows:

"Thanks for submitting a comment
Your comment is being reviewed by BaT staff."

This is a first for me, as Dave Smith has confirmed my dates and information posted is correct.

Oh well, guess we will see how long my secret probation lasts.

Yes, you are high bidder as I write this. That's very strange that they would muzzle you like that.

well you have been known to step on peoples toes, no surprise, ha :LOL::LOL:

Yep, and while he's wearing cleats as well. But if you read those comments I think Bill's in the right on this one. And the car is a little funky as well. A "tweener" they call it.

It’s always nice to know when you are appreciated. I’ll bet the responder is a new hire at BAT. Perhaps he was packing groceries at Safeway last week ...

Bill, I had that happen on a couple of my posts too. I believe we (Timed out, on an edit) not a time out, I think you can still post, just not add or subtract to that post ;) Hey who's "The FJ Guy" ? Is he one of us here ? He mentioned being a buyer of 2080 ??? I thought that was just between you & I on Rons ERA??

Bill,

You should know that people who think they are the one in charge don't like people telling them what they don't know.

Good luck with the purchase and happy New Year.

Probably laid off workers from Twitter (now X) hired by BaT.

Unknown on the FJ Guy, I didn't tell anyone else about it, unless he is talking about 2031...Or, it could be a certain White with tan/green interior trim ERA 289FIA that his 4 year old son wanted to trade me straight up for my old Featherlite car trailer, in PA, and also a member of CC here.

As for the double secret probation, I took a screen shot.

I had an offline conversation with the seller on BAT, he is leaving it as a MK II, even after I showed him what to look for to prove otherwise. Even asked him to take a better picture of the upper front control arm mounts (slotted-MKI, double drilled mounts-MKII), which is when he told me he was done with our conversation.
Unless someone else asks the questions to try and get a response, the basic truth is out there, it's up to the potential buyers and bidders to decide who to believe at this point.

Timeline wise, compare what I posted to this one:
https://www.motortrend.com/features/...ical-timeline/

Then look at the rear trunk hoop retrofit kit from Russ Thompson (RIP)
Trunk Hoop Conversion Kit at the MK3 Roadster Shop of RT's Custom Cobra Car Parts

I was one of the first to install it on FFR2134K back in the day, FFR then incorporated the idea into their "new and improved MK II".

Thought maybe it was the link, so I tested this assumption on another auction with the same results

Bill,

On BaT I have had some comments that needed to be reviewed by BaT and other comments have gone through immediately. I suspect there must be some "keywords" that trigger the review as opposed to some sort of secret probation, but you never know...

Nope, not key words, every post at this time, as I've made a few for the seller (only 1 has been approved asking for the upper control arm mount picture), others have remained unapproved (asking questions as to the cars history, which of course, I've posted above already here).

Also posting questions on other auctions, those appear to also need approvals because clearly, my 1,000+ like rating, never having had any of my posts removed, or deleted, not ever, and my on point questions, are deemed questionable to the seller or the auction company.

I'm really thinking it is because I called out BAT in some of my posts that got me where I am today on their site. ;)

I once used a commonly used shortened version of "transmission"
That one was held for review.

What does it matter anyway? None of the things you mention are going to grossly affect the outcome. Its still got time but the likelhood that it'll sell for anything close to what it did two years ago are slim to none.
