Waiting ERA 3032
Well, I was wrong to hope that ERA had a faster painter. Still waiting for ERA 3032 Slab side to be painted. It's been with Peter's new painter since May 21,2023. He finished the body work and sent pics around October 2023. Now it just sits.
Peter and I called him, he just laughs and says he's been busy. Ordered this ERA 4-22-2022 . I expected to wait two years but I think this will break most recorded wait time for ERA. Jeff originally said 6 months (I thought that was to long). I'll keep you all posted. For the wait and cost the car better be PERFECT. SURE ! This is my second ERA and the original painter in 1994 had it done in 9 weeks and it was Perfect at one fourth the price.

If you offer the painter more money, will he move you up in the queue?

That is most illegal Patrickt! Now, if the gentleman above, would happen to put down a briefcase on a park bench, and the painter would put an identical briefcase next to it, then latter pick up the first briefcase, that just happens to weigh more, well, who would be the wiser? Wink, wink, nudge nudge, know what I mean? Cheers, Dennis

838 was 1 week short of 3 years. That seems to be pretty typical.

How long did the painter take? It's a skill, but not rocket science.

Patrickt, how much do you think I should offer him? What's the normal rate for an ERA one color no strips paint job today. I'm an old guy who paid $3000 for one on my ERA 407 back in 1994. I'm a bit out of touch.

I remember my costs from twenty years ago so I would guess that a top end body and paint job is going to be $15k to $20k now, perhaps more IDK. That said, I would probably offer the guy a $5k bonus for "rush treatment."

My car was at a body shop for 11 months and then I fired them. They were completely unresponsive to calls and I even flew there once. Then Connecticut Custom got it completed in 3 months. So 14 months in the body shop.
A single color paint job and associated body work should be about $17k.

I remember around the 6K range in 2004....For Show paint(Xtra clear and Buff)
That was the norm.......Before 2x4x8 Where $4.99 and a Large Pepperoni was $12 at Papa Ginos

Walt is doing some. Peter has a couple other shops as well. Big B was really dropping the ball last year and I am not sure of his current status.

Thanks to all of you. Seems Jeff will start with color. Maybe Peter's call made a difference. I guess I have a bargain at $13 k if it gets done.

Painter finally completed [img][/img] [img][/img] job. Car is headed back to Peter at ERA. Now #3032 will be in ERA's hands.
