427 Starter issue I am not using a block plate. I am using a Lakewood scattersh

I am using a Lakewood scattershield with their block plate. I did not run the factory block plate. RobMC starter. They said I need the factory plate and the block plate. The factory plate locates the starter. I am burning through starters. They are getting hung up and burn out

I use a QuickTime plate and bell on my 427 with no issues.

My last Cobra had a 428 and used a Lakewood plate and bell with no issues. It had a Ford OE type starter.
