Default Cobras Roof Collapses

I just got off the phone with George Anderson who told me that Charles and Leslie Howard just had a major catastrophe in Denver. According to George, Leslie called this morning and said that their hangers roof collapsed under the weight of all the snow they have received in the Denver area. Beneath under all the rubble was both of their Cobras, a sprint car, Mr. Howards airplane, their propeller business, not to mention all the equipment and tools they used on a daily basis. The good news is that no one was hurt!

George thinks he may be going up to Denver this week end to lend a hand and provide moral support to Charles and Leslie. If anyone wants to drop them a note of condolences their email address is:

fast428@aol.com

Those of you that have met Charles and Leslie at one of the Run and Gun events or through the Mile High Cobra Club know that they are both super people and they would probably appreciate your well wishes.

My thoughts are with them. It's amazing how much snow they got and how much damage I'm sure the area received. Hopefully many things will be salvaged.

Unhappy That sucks !

I am dealing with a similar problem here. Although nowhere near the scale it sounds like Charles and Leslie are dealing with. I just bought the house I am in and the garage is currently only big enough for one car and a couple of motorcycles. This spring I am adding on two and a half more bays but last week the Barn where
my Avanti is stored caved in so now the only thing holding up the roof is the roof of the Avanti. I have not been able to determine how much damage has been done due to all the frozen snow is to heavy for me to budge so I just have to wait till it is melted. I hope that all goes well Charles and Leslie.. you have my sympathies.

Everyone have a good one,
Dan

Dan,

I hope that the American Steel that your Avanti was built with is strong enough to prevent any serious damage to your car. Good luck when you can get in to take a look at the damage.

Thanks Clois,
One thing alot of people don't realize is that the Avanti's were
Fiberglass. They also have a built in roll bar and luckily the roof joist that fell on the car landed right above the roll bar and I am hoping, and it looks like that there may only be some paint damage but it is hard to tell because the car is in a storage bag.
My fingers are crossed

Dan
