Hey, what an idea! :D

Mr Brent. First, thanks for all you do with the Forum.

As I am a slacker, I've lost my password. I've tried several times to get a new one via email, but all I get is the email back, but no text in the message. Can you help a brother out?

Thanks, Jim Finerty

Brent, I had to restart an old hotmail account and register as southernfried instead of my "real " name southernfriedcj.

My southernfriedcj email is sfcj8@bellsouth.net , when I tried to get my password, a link was emailed to me. I hit the link, and instead of emailing me my password, I got an email with no message, just the "to" and "from".
I'm waiting for the ClubCobra domain so the cookie will be back and I can log back on as southernfriedcj.

Man I'm going to have to start keeping a log of Who's Who around here, lol. It's the "name game" thang.

Oh, looks like the last pic I posted in my Gallery was lost in the change over. No problem, I'll just re-post....maybe under Excalibar.....ha ha.

Brent. switching over from a 1995 Dell 266 w/ Windows 95 Release 1.0 ( original, not a replica ) to an Apple Power Mac G4, MAC OS 10.2.3. Did not have to log in with the Dell, but I have to log in with the Mac. Yes, I knew my password. Any thoughts ?

Don...
...go to your User Control Panel on the forum and choose Edit Options.
Verify that "Automatically login when you return to the site?" and
"Browse board with cookies?" are both set to Yes.

Also verify that cookies are enabled in the Web Browser of your new Mac.

When I last returned from overseas, I had forgotten my old password (to sharpe427) AND my wife had changed email, so I had to 're-invent' myself. I sure do miss my original name, and the 'Member Since 1999' ! :(

Snakebit 03-31-2005 04:33 PM

Brent, I purchased a new home computer and can not log on because I forgot my password. (I'm using my computer at work) I have requested to change my password several times but never receive an email on how to change the password! What's wrong?

BMK 03-31-2005 04:44 PM

Now guys I'm going to be honest..

My kids program my VCR. They set up the computer and load music to my iPod. They burn my CD's. They check my emails for me..

%/..I sit daily looking blankly at the pile of remote controls on the coffee table..

I'm searching the rubbish bin looking for my Remington typewriter..

For all of those people who can't remember all their email, ATM and security password and logins, check out this article then download the free program.

http://www.tomshardware.com/consumer/20040507/

Here is the program.

http://keepass.sourceforge.net/

It works very well and best of all, it's free.

Brent,
I logged on at home over the weekend and now I cant log on at the office. I really want (need) to be on from both computers. What am I doing wrong or what do I need to do? Please help,
Thanks,
Byron W.

computerworks 07-05-2006 04:25 PM

Shouldn't be a problem...using the two computers.

When you are back in the office, be sure Caps Lock is off when you sign in...
passwords are case-sensitive.

Do you recall the error you got at the office?
E-mail me, off-forum, when you are at the keyboard of the system with the login problem.

I have the same problem only opposite. I can log on at the office but not at home. When I try to log in at home it keeps going back to the log in page. At work I'm automatically loged on but at home it asks me to log in???

SL 07-30-2006 12:40 PM

yep, I still remember my password, just takes a few attempts to remember it..
