Let me sleep on this for a while........
Just keep the room available, in case I don't get a better offer.

Are they nice rooms?

TURK
Is there a coffee maker? Smoking or Not?

Jamo 02-18-2003 10:53 PM

Hey Ron

You might want to talk to Malone and Nelli about Turk's shower habits. At SAAC, he invited them to use his shower when they were stranded for one of Bill's regular breakdowns, and then joined them--it's a Turkish thing. Thought you should know.

Corral update....

The Corral parking organizer just called me back after an email inquiry. It looks like the SAAC club will be getting 200 spaces on the blacktop this year. Passes are required to this area after you get in through the gates. Must be a club member to get a pass to the Corral area for the Shelby Club.

I asked, and there will be no special BarBQs or after events for the Shelby club in particular. Maybe some of the ClubCobra members will be able to meet up after Saturday's event.

It would be nice if we had some small "ClubCobra" stickers to put on our windshields to know what members are there, etc... If any of you members out there know if Brent or others have some sort of ClubCobra stickers, please let me know.

Turk 06-16-2003 06:48 PM

I want in!

What do I have to do?

TURK

decooney 06-16-2003 07:02 PM

I'll send you an email...

Hi Turk,
you can contact your local norcal-saac chapter Board member and they can put you on the list for passes. Passes won't be mailed out til' late July I'm hearing... if you cannot reach anyone, let me know by private email.

Turk 06-16-2003 07:04 PM

I am TABULATOR...Don't they know that?

I will do that as soon as we get back from DVSFIII

Thanks

TURK

See Ya There!

We'll be in the Shelby Club Corral parking this year... on the blacktop. Various people from NorCal Cobras and the NorCal Shelby Club are going. Some of us will be there from Thursday to Monday (Driving down from Sacramento early Thursday), so we'll be looking around for those Cobras and Shelby's, and members from ClubCobra. A group of us will be at the Italiano on Friday to meet up in the Corral parking area.

See Ya There!
Duane

My middle son and I will be there again this year. We are going to drive the SPF up and camp at the track. No parking lot parties for me at this one, unless they are at our campsite.

Regardless, we look forward to seeing/meeting y'all there. :D

Randy Klein 07-14-2003 07:27 PM

See you there

I'll be there on Saturday and Sunday, Flag room with Jim Crilly. Anyone else?

Cal M, I'd like to meet you face to face while you're here. Where can I find you?

All the best, gentlemen,

PS That red Cobra in Front is being driven by Mac Archer, the same fellow who beat the Ferrari about 3 years ago, after coming from 25th position!

WOW

decooney 07-14-2003 07:51 PM

Hey Randy,

yeah, if I had to think of one thing that I always look forward to every year is watching the officials put Mac and his 427 Cobra at the Back (because he's so fast) of the Pack at Laguna Seca just so he can quickly pick off one car at a time and pass those Ferraris before the finish line! He does know the track though...

That last lap he did three years ago was crazy coming in on the final turn. There were what, (3) Ferarri's at about $5Million a piece just micro inches apart, side by side with Mac coming down the final straightaway. Once he got it straightened out, it was time for the 427 to show what American V8s are all about, and Mac did. I will never forget that day, and that historical finish with all that high dollar sixties metal comin down the track!

People, you have not seen a 427 go until you see Mac and his Red 427 Cobra eat everyone for lunch at Laguna Seca. It'll make the hair stand up on your arms if you ever see it.

Jamo 07-15-2003 12:01 AM

I got Flagroom tickets too--best deal in town for any first timers. You'll want someplace to relax and refresh during the days.

crillyiv 07-15-2003 01:26 AM

The funniest thing about Mac Archer's pass of the Ferrari to win was watching it on TV and listening to the commentators just about have heart attacks.

His mix up with the Corvette from TX last year wasn't nearly as funny %/

Anyway. it is always a good show.

Bill Kesner 07-15-2003 01:47 AM

Got into the Corral at the Concorso on Friday, and will head to the pits at Laguna Seca Friday afternoon. Hoping to get a Corral pass at the Historics. Should be an awesome weekend.

Two weeks away...

Monterey Historics and Concourse weekend is two weeks away folks!.

Some of us from Sacramento, CA area will be entering cars at Concours Italiano Corral on Friday-15th as a meeting place starting out the weekend. Will be at Laguna on Saturday/partially Sunday in the Shelby Club Corral areas. Driving down with a pack at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday morning heading down I-5 South and cutting across towards Monterey for those of you who might be driving down early Thursday in that direction from NorCal areas... :)

Just for kix, since we don't have the ClubCobra window stickers created and mailed out yet (forthcoming), I was thinking maybe some of us could write a little 3/4" white "CC" on the lower driver side corner of the windshield to identify other ClubCobra cars that will be there... Hope to meet some of you there. Duane

Randy Rosenberg 08-01-2003 10:48 AM

We're driving down to the Concorso Italiano on Friday morning - we expect to there around 10:30 or so. On Sat, we're doing a bunch of auction previews, then LSIR on Sunday (parking in the Nor Cal Shelby Corral).

I'll put a BACC sticker on my windsheild...

See ya,
Randy R...

Russ Dickey 08-01-2003 02:04 PM

The wife and I are flying out on 8/13 for our first Historic Races. We'll be at the track Saturday and Sunday, but we're wondering about attending the Concorso Italiano. Is that all Italian exotic cars, and is it worth attending?

Thanks,
Russ
