				 Happy 4th Birthday Club Cobra!!
It just occurred to me that this month 4 years ago Brent started this website.
I'm sure members like John McMahon, David Gagnard, Scott Smith, Scott Sword, to name a few, would all join me in wishing Club Cobra a Happy Birthday!

 Hey, I even forgot!
Last year I tried to find a backup of the original site, which I think is lost forever. For those who hadn't ever seen it, it was a loooong way from where we're at today! Glad we made it this far together!

Thanks for the reminder Neal. |

This site has been a great source of info. I don't know where I be without it. Definately not as "informed"!
 Thanks,
 Hyde

				 HOLY SHEESH !
 Neal,
Tnx for the reminder. I can't believe it!
Brent, thanks so very very much.
I have forgotten how hard U have worked to make this real!I seem to take our Cobra bretheren for granted these days. Big mistake on my part. FWIW I sure am proud and fortunate to have met U all !

				 A Good Thing This Place
 Brent:
Since this is your baby feel comfort knowing that at 4 years of age it has been sufficiently potty trained! 99.5% of the members are positive influences and mean to do the right things with their posts. A good group, I wish I could meet more of them in person.

Neal -- When I first became a member I remember reading so many of your posts and learning so much from the early banter on Cobras. I had the desire before stumbling onto this site long before. I may have missed you posts in the past year, but it seems as if you are posting more now than in the past. I am glad. And if I am incorrect on my "Neal posting sighting" than forgive me. Enjoy reading your commentary. Thanks for reminding us how long this website has been around.

Come to think of it -- I think the decline in my productive work time that has occurred over the same time can be correlated to this site.
Happy Birthday |

Neal; Thanks for the reminder, the last three months or so I have been so busy with work I've had little time to think about anything else....

Brent; I remember joining on Jan. 31,1999,I think the club was less than a month old and had about a dozen members when I joined up.....When you added the Members Rides section,I e-mailed and asked if it would be alright to post pictures of my 65 Fastback because I did not have a Cobra....I'll never forget your kindness when you told me to send you the pictures and you would gladly post them and when they showed up you had a very nice header above the pictures. I was as proud of that as a new father of his first born, and that is something that will stay with me for a very long time....Thanks again Brent.........

I, for one, never expected the club to grow as it has... Who would have thought there would be over 6,000 members and probably that many non-members who log on also.. I have made new friends thru the club and will certainly make a few more before it is over.....There were some ruff times but a hell of a lota good times here and the info here is nothing short of amazing....If you need help or an answer, where else could you tap into so much info from such a diverse group of people from around the WORLD..........

Brent; It's been one hell of a ride and I hope it continues for many more years, and hope to someday meet you and shake your hand and tell you thanks in person........

BTW; I wear my Club Cobra Charter Member t-shirt to practically ever car show or cruise nite I attend, glad I bought two, cause one is about wore out..............

 Thanks  again;

 David

 JWheaton,
Thanks for the kind words. Somewhere in the past month or so my post count dropped by about 1,800 and that's ok - I figure 4 years ago around this time I was probably getting close to the post count I have now, so "starting over" is fine with me.

David,

I hear ya on the work load - I haven't done much of anything on the Cheetah for quite awhile, but one of these days it will get there.

Jerry,

You're quite welcome.

Brent,

Thanks for the website.

				 Thanks for remembering NeaL!
I have spent countless hours reading the posts for all these years now through many revisions every one better than the last.
As Club Cobra has grown it has been tough to follow all the names but it is still at the top of my task bar.

Brent, thanks, this is still my favorite place on the web.

Where would we have been if............
 Brent,
We all owe you so much it is difficult to express my feelings. I joined in 1999 just after I got my car in October, and I was in the 500's in membership count. Shortly after, I met Tom Meadows, called him, went for a drive and away we went! From there sprang the idea of the Texas Cobra Club, and we had the formulative founding meeting in Austin the last weekend in February,2000.
Club Cobra is now approaching 6000( and might be over) and the Texas Cobra Club approaches 300, and I feel all of this leads directly back to you!!!!! I also cherish the 2001 TCC meeting when I first met you and Sherrie, and I never will forget the honor of having you as a passenger on the Poker run to Wimberly!
We all owe you a lot, and life is much better for your toil and effort, and for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Fred, yes we're going to make it to the brewery!
Scott, when are you going to have another Cobra?

John, it was an honor to be able to attend your event down there. Sherrie and I still talk about it a lot, and we'll make it down there again some year! By the way, let Tom know I haven't forgotten him, and I'll be calling him soon. Just going for the element of surprise! Oh, and one of the shining moments was the rumbling through the parking garage and you punching it in your SPF! Great feeling, great car, and great company!
Looking forward to another great year with all of ya! |
