Thanks Guys......

Don Scott did it all...

BTW in order for the oil filter to work on the Coupe a remote oil filter will need to be fitted.....looks like I will be calling Mike Forte, I understand that he has some billet parts that work great.

Come On June Gotta Get to the Fling........

Tony,
As per our agreement, we will be swapping
trailer position and motors for the trip back
from the fling. That gives you three days
to break it in for me.

thanks,

joe kennedy

Tony, nobody noticed, no distributor! The Tec 3 computer uses a crank trigger and coil packs for firing. I had to machine an oil pump drive held in the normal place. You can see the top of it if you look close. By the way DV I machined that part on my new Smithy mill (ha, ha,)!

Don, I can't see for sure how you've done the dist plug, so could you please let me know if your crank trigger wheel shows sync AND reference, or are you using something similar to the Explorer DIS spout to show the cam sync?

750hp, the Tec 3 computer can trigger from either the crank or the crank and cam. All I needed was an oil pump drive from the cam. Tony's system uses the crank trigger and fires 2 cylinders at a time. As an example cylinder 1 & 6 fire at the same time. Since they are 90 degrees apart #1 fires on compression and # 6 fires on exhaust. The system works great and eliminates the need for the cam trigger. All I did was take a distributor and machine it down to block level, cut the shaft to the proper length and installed a brass plug at the top.

Tec3

Regarding the "distributor plug"...I am currently also installing a Tec3 into a new engine build. MSD has come out with several distributor plugs with a built-in hall effect signal for the cam reference. This allows a smaller footprint distributor replacement to drive the oil pump and provide a proper cam reference signal....

Are you guys paying a good price for the TEC3? I have looked at it can you give some feedback. Kevin
