530 HP 516 lb. ft. of torque

Hello All,

Don Scott of Minnesota classics has delivered my 410 cu. in stroker to DV to install in the DVSF II FFR Daytona Coupe. The HP and torque figures 530 HP 516 lb. ft. of torque come off of the Dyno sheets. The more impressive figures come from the 562 lb. ft of torque at 4400 RPM with 471 HP this is with the eight down stacks and TEC3 engine management system.

Don ran the engine first with a 750 carburator and manifold and the comparable figures are 548 lb. ft. of Toque and 459 HP @4400 and 495 lb. ft. of torque and 509 HP @ 5400 RPM. BTW Don delivers his engines with a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty and has proven not only to be a great engine builder but, a good solid ethical businsss man.

I have loaded two pictures of the engine into my Gallery, not just impressive performance but, a beautiful piece of work.

LOOKIN'GOOD!!

Tony,
The new engine looks GOOOOOOOODDDDDD!!!! Once you get the car set up & running, you are really going to have a problem each day trying to figure out which one you WON'T drive!
What a tough life you live, so just color me green with envy.

Absolutely stunning Tony!!

Jamo 02-05-2003 01:59 PM

It's a shame it has to be wasted on a car!:JEKYLHYDE

Jerry Chabino 02-05-2003 01:59 PM

Tony,

Do U expect any drivability problems with that bad bear?

Tony Ripepi 02-05-2003 02:44 PM

Thanks Guys....

David.....I'll never be able to keep up with a guy that has his own Cobra Factory but, the Coupe should give you a run for the money on the track...No wind wall to run into on the straights; even though your car is Aluminum the aerodynamics work against you. I seem to remember reading that the original coupes with the 289 chassis/engine picked up 30+ mph on the top end and significant improvements in mileage.....please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Jerry....The rear end has 3:55's with the TKO, on the highway it should be pretty smooth. The idle RPM is 750 but with the throttle response I will need to drive the beast with the right Head in charge of the right foot. Guys who think with their little head end up in the ditch, divorce court , jail etc. etc.

JAMO...Where else would you put it if not in a car?????

From the start when I won the Coupe I was committed to make it into a special car and that is where Ed and Don are taking the project.

Beautiful - you are doing the DVSFII car justice.

Win the DVSFIII car as well and you had better sleep with one eye open. LOL

Edley Rondinone 02-05-2003 04:13 PM

BEE-YOOTIFUL engine!!! Would love to have it in my car!

dscott 02-05-2003 05:04 PM

:D The line forms right here for anyone that wants one just like Tony's. Well, maybe not just like it, I try and make each one a little unique. If you look close at the picture you can see the nice polished aluminum tubes that hide the wires for the injectors. Looks trick and keeps it clean! I appreciate all the thumbs up and especially thank Tony for letting me be a part of the special car.

Tony,

Thanks for the update on the progress of your engine. Looks like you're doing a fine job.

Suggestion, when you replace that oil filter, spray the new one black first.

How's the car coming?

Paul

Tony:
It's beautiful! I would sell Roscoe to the arabs for an engine like that.
