The owner is not overly interested in selling at this point.

I hope he does get $350K.

They are a limited series of cars from an already special group of cars.

The only thing that separates the CSX3000 series from the CSX 4000 series is the fact the former were built in the 60's and are the original series.

The car is clearly worth what he paid for it. Whether its worth more will depend on whether someone else will pay more.

IMHO.

4002....

The number 1's 40th "1" and 4001 will not fetch the price differential compared to 40th "2" or 4002 IMHO. It's that adage you never want (from an investment point of veiw) to have the biggest house in your neigborhood.... pk

Contrarian opinion- Who was the second person to solo fly the Atlantic after Lindbergh? Who was second place in decathalon to Bruce Jenner in Montreal 1976? First place matters in this society. That's not to say I personally would pay $350k for it.

CSX 4039 03-20-2003 11:47 AM

Is that windscreen street legal?

apples-oranges

being "number 1" at something is different from numbering something "number 1".

I can number everything in my fridge
doesn't make the lettuce better then the steak.

REAL 1 03-20-2003 04:17 PM

You can number your steaks and lettuce. But steaks and lettuce are reproduced in large numbers and they are fungible. No?

CSX4000R's are limited. Only 10 in the world.

Big difference.

pk 03-20-2003 04:26 PM

right and my point is they will all do well.

number 1 will not be worth 3x number 2 that's my point.;)

REAL 1 03-20-2003 04:43 PM

Ok. That I agree with.

pk 03-20-2003 04:50 PM

pk

REAL 1 03-20-2003 04:53 PM

Uuuuuuuuuuh.............. the" greater fool " theory is great for a while, and people do realize substantial (if unwaranted ) gains .......... however .....eventually someone is the "greatest fool"...............see also ENRON and the dow jones in general.

When supply exeeds demand those with the greatest exposure will have to take the greatest beating....like enormous premiums for a # or a brush with shelbys trousers....

REAL 1 03-21-2003 10:35 AM

Mike: Ok. Deal.
Pk: Ok. Deal.

I'll post when I'm going to HRE.

We'll definitely go out for some lunch and beers.

But no rivets. PLEASE!

pk 03-21-2003 10:42 AM

two quick points that have not come up.

First do we know how much SAI is going to ask for 4002-10?
One would guess it would be less then the 195K the first car brought.

Second what cobra fan is going to pay 350K for a car that's not street legal?
Ya can't even blast through Times Square at 2 am in it.

...Uh I mean go out for Ice Cream in it. :3DSMILE:

my cobra's tires will NOT have flat spots.

KobraKarl 03-21-2003 10:58 AM

I must admit I am very puzzled at the introduction of a r code car in an era where they are laughably out classed,,,dosnt this make them the biggest replica yet?

REAL 1 03-21-2003 01:53 PM

No. They are the same size as all the others.:JEKYLHYDE

KobraKarl 03-21-2003 01:57 PM

LOL
Maybe the only answer possible .
