...THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!

uh-oh. Now this is the REAL DEAL...the REAL1 in jersey.

Evan...are you now REAL2?

...this could mean trouble!

REAL 1 03-19-2003 03:35 PM

He is right. His is the REAL deal.

But I'm also right. So is mine. Sans supercharger.

All CSX's are the REAL deal.

:D

The car could probably not be duplicated for $130K. Isn't it a special composite body?

My guess it would cost around $145K to duplicate with full aluminum engine and supercharger, paint etc...

The premium is for the fact its one of 10 CSX4000Rs.

Is it worth it? Who knows.

I personally thing the supercharger is overkill. But hey, thats just me.

CS obviously still adheres to the old "too much is just right" philosophy.

computerworks 03-19-2003 03:37 PM

but, but... they say that one is the REAL ONE?????

p.s. .Evan send me an e-mail from an address that works, will ya?

REAL 1 03-19-2003 03:41 PM

Ron: You not getting this. There ALL REAL!

Stop trying to stir the pot. :p :3DSMILE:

$350,000.00 for anyone interested. You could have gotten it at the show for $195,000.00.

Carroll DeWeese 03-19-2003 03:50 PM

The car is in an exclusive class. It is worth whatever someone is willing and able to pay. It is REAL, although not an ORIGINAL mid-60's car. It is too nice to race. It need to be bought by someone that can not only afford it but can afford to take care of it.

pk 03-19-2003 04:14 PM

sorry that's too much..

He won't get it. 'cause for less then 195,000 someone could get
4002 ( or 03 or 04 etc). That's my feeling anyway but who can tell?

I do think these cars (along with the spec racers) will do pretty well in the future. Most likely better, then the average 4000 (dollar for dollar). Just because they are REAL Shelby ("sort of") Race Cars and they're limited in number.

The number 1's 40th "1" and 4001 will not fetch the price differential compared to 40th "2" or 4002 IMHO. It's that adage you never want (from an investment point of veiw) to have the biggest house in your neigborhood. If I were buying a 4000 for investment (not a great idea to start with) I'd buy a used "well photographed" (at various events) spec racer. These cars probably have the most current shelby "skunk works" stuff in them. anyway my $.02

CSX 4027 03-19-2003 04:48 PM

4001

I was in A.C. The car looked nice but, the buyer has to have some sort of $$ vision of the future. It is not something that would get me interested. Also, it was obviously set up as a comp car with a wild motor and a "Turd" windscreen. Why the muffled exhaust? It certainly didn't sound like much and no-one reved it past 3000 at the show. I wonder why? Wasn't the whole point of this car to be and SOUND spectacular?

Excaliber 03-19-2003 09:56 PM

I think the magic dragon puffer add on is just right!

Assolutely love that windscreen.

You're right Ron--I'm above the glass (or Lexon) no matter what.

Besides--bugs can be tasty.:JEKYLHYDE

Re: CSX4001 - In Da Swamps of Joisey

I like how they bolt a Vortech blower on the car, and call it a "Shelby Supercharger" ! What's more, the oil feed line needs to be moved. They've put the feed line 180 degrees out. It needs to enter the blower at about the point between the two idler pulleys. There'll be a brass plug still sitting in the correct hole. There is a gear drive inside the blower, and the top gear rotates clockwise as you look at the blower. The oil needs to squirt between the gears so that it lubricates the gears as the make contact. All the feed line is doing at the moment is spraying against the gear AFTER it has meshed with the lower gear. It'd be nice to spend that sort of money, only to have your supercharger fail some time down the track....

Jamo - I'm with you about that windscreen. If I just slouch a bit lower in my seat, I'm sure the bugs and small stones wouldn't be too bad. I wonder what it would be like to look through?

captain 03-20-2003 05:44 AM

$350,000! not in your wildest dreams. Carroll found another pidgeon.

mrmustang 03-20-2003 07:29 AM

Evan,

I think Ron is poking fun at your user name, not the car...........But that is just my own personal take on his comments.....

Bill S.

PS: We going to see you at the Route 23 automall show on April 27th
http://www.gsrmc.org . Last year there were two CSX3000 cars that showed up from around the corner in Kinnelon........

Ron,

That windscreen will work just fine. The smaller comp windscreens pretty much protect close to the entire head of the driver due to its aero design, this windscreen should be more effective for both driver and passenger.

......It might not protect Evan's head though.   ;) ;)
