How 'bout the reverse: Many years ago I advertised a car for sale for $4900. A potential customer said "will you take $4600 for it?" I said "yes". He said : "Would you take $4400?" . After that episode my response to similar questions became "I'll consider any legitimate offer, accompanied by a deposit."
