cobish 05-05-2003 06:48 PM

on ebay
way overpriced, value mabye 80k.
remember it is a replica.
:) :) :)

southernfriedcj 05-05-2003 07:17 PM

To bad it's not a "no reserve" auction.

Dan Semko 05-05-2003 07:29 PM

I dropped the seller a note asking if he would be interested in trading even for our aluminum CSX, brushed finish with ghost stripes and no engine PLUS a pristine Eurospec'd 1985 Porsche 930 Turbo with 7500 miles. No response!?

casaleenie 05-05-2003 08:25 PM

No bids yet....

This may be a reality check....

Excaliber 05-05-2003 09:25 PM

145K???? No way in this market will bring that. The auction will CLOSE without a SINGLE bid!

Thats right, you heard it here first, not a SINGLE bid will be placed!

,,,by the way,,,,whats up with that gauge arrangement on the dash?

Dan,,,,,yeah, I guess that would be a good trade. I figure you would get a motor and the labor for the price of the Porsche. To bad the car is covered with "paint" though, :JEKYLHYDE

40th Anniversary Model

Hi guys--

Just a comment--This car does not comply to the 40th Ann. mold.

1) It has white stripes--no Ann. model has stripes--they should all (the blue ones) be the same. The car has lost its uniqueness.

2) An automatic?! Give me a break!

3) The car is a combination of the street model (dash layout and bumpers) and the SC--side pipes and rollbar--this is the 40th Ann design........

So, $145k for something that does not fit the REAL 40th Ann model is just another Shelby--a great car but something that you can get for less--IMHO.....

Mark

Oh Boy

You guys are tough.
If no one is going to buy it, can we at least have a cake and candles?

Excaliber 05-05-2003 09:46 PM

,,,I wasn't even going to mention the automatic, I was to stunned by the gauges!

OK,,,,I'm ready to "blow out the candle" on this one.

Ernie

CSX 4027 05-05-2003 10:23 PM

No automatic

Its a 4 speed toploader. Read below. The upper print is a misprint.

Turk 05-06-2003 12:18 AM

It couldn't possibly have an "All aluminum 427 Side Oiler", could it?

Someone buying it could raise a stink about that if they wanted to.

$80,000? I don't think so.Maybe a SPF at that price, but not a Anniversary Shelby.
If it IS one.

REAL 1 05-06-2003 11:41 AM

IMHO the value of the car is probably between $135K to $145K.

A nice non anniversary aluminum CSX with the "right" stuff is probably in the $120K to $135K range.

$80K? Yeah. Right! I've seen guys asking close to $65 $70 for a SPF. Gimme a break. The CSX and SPF aren't in the same league.

stale_face 05-06-2003 12:18 PM

Shelby didn't produde 427's until 1965. Why is this "authentic" anniversary car a 1962?

PSB 05-06-2003 12:31 PM

$145,000?

REAL 1 05-06-2003 02:03 PM

PSB: Some may have the same reaction for what you paid for your Hunter.

PSB 05-06-2003 02:15 PM

Let's see - I could buy 5 Hunters for the price of that Shelby. Or, I could pay off my mortgage and buy a Hunter. Or I could buy a Hunter, a Viper, and a ZO6, and still have money left to mod all three. Or I could buy a Hunter and a new Ford GT. Or....

$145,000 -

casaleenie 05-06-2003 03:06 PM

PSB....

A great line of thinking!!!!!!

However, you do have to show a little compassion for the guys that made the mistake and spent all that money on a CSX replica...

REAL 1 05-06-2003 03:51 PM

Well some may still think that may is still too much to pay for a Hunter.

Yup. Very true. I have a new Shelby Cobra which exactly replicates his original Shelby Cobra which makes it a ...Cobra. Gee whada know. But don't feel sorry for us Shelby guys. Were a drive'n Cobras, yusa drive'n' da fakes.

5, 10, 20 years from now lets see which car automotive history still remembers... the Shelby Cobra or the Hunter (throw in Unique for good measure too). Hmmm. I wonder which.

I'm glad you guys saved all that money. Now go get that Viper or Z06. At least it will be a REAL Viper or Vette cause you sure ain't driven a Cobra.

;)

Traveller 05-06-2003 03:54 PM

I say take the reserve off and let the market decide!

Real,

What value does all that add?

For someone who own's a "REAL" Cobra, you sure act like you've got something to prove.

How come?
