Default Turkey Pan (Cold Air Box) - Are there ANY nice ones?

Does anyone sell a half decent looking turkey pan out there?

I have bought and returned enough to have paid for one in shipping charges. I have a NEVER seen so much junk out there!

All of them are rough, nasty grinding marks, sanding marks, Frankenstein welds, what the heck?!

My wife's real turkey pan was only $20 and it looks 50 times better and can actually cook a turkey!

All I'm looking for is a brushed finish good looking turkey pan. Four sources so far and they were all terrible. Well, that's not exactly true, I got one good one and my friend liked it so much, I sold it to him and bought another from the same supplier, but it seems they only made one good one!

Can you sense the frustration?

Thumbs down Lots of work

I ordered one of those other guy's Turkey pans. Wow it would have saved me a lot of time and frustration if I'd just gotten the Kirkam one in the first place!

rsimoes,

I certainly hope one of ours wasn't one of the terrible ones! If it was...I will eat it--along with all shipping charges. I can't open every box and inspect them all personally. I know we have shipped a lot of them lately. I don't do the shipping so I don't know if you got one of ours or not, but if you did let me know...even if it has to be here on a public forum!

I want to know what we are making and if we are making our customers happy.

Default You know......

...... if you apply a little imagination when looking at the wifes turkey pan/roaster, they do look a lot a like. The black, speckled non-stick surface might be kind of cool to. Think of the easy clean up! And the handles! Talk about conveniance!

The Kirkham pan is a POS.

Tried to cook Turk's parrot in one. No bottom and lots of holes. Wouldn't hold the juices.

Sure, but what about that "Roasted turkey" smell the car will be putting out as he drives around town? All the dogs for miles will be coming around for a sniff, and they might even pee on his wheels!

Here is my wife's turkey pan!

See the nice finish? No weld marks.

I'll just cut it up and install it in my Cobra!

David Kirkham,

Thanks for your reply. It's much appreciated. At the time of my purchases, I was not aware that you sold parts for non Kirkham kits.

Do your pans also show the weld marks like the picture below?

I already have polished this one for about 2 to 3 hours to get it to a pretty good condition. But what I really wanted was one that did not show the welds at all.

Are yours also slightly leaned forward to help with hood clearance and get air from the hood scoop?

Thanks!

Do that a week before Thanksgiving, and she'll cut you off for a month or two!

rsimoes,

Look at a picture of an original Cobra. Every weld shows the grinding marks.

Get one from Kirkham and if you want it shiny, take it to a chrome shop and have them buff and polish it for you. It will cost about $100, but when done, you won't see any marks.

I think you can see mine in the engine picture in my gallery. (titled "plain but potent") I had it polished.

If you do have it polished, don't bother with the bottom or the part where the carb sits. Nobody can see that anyway. Just do the "walls". It'll look great.

Al
