Default Bannon's New Ride!

Okay, I was reprimanded today by a fellow CC member because I have had my new Superformance for 2 weeks and have not made an annoucement to the club. The car is fantastic. Having a few teething pains but who doesn't with a new car. Overall it is a blast!
I've heard the stories on here for years about the attention these cars garner. Quite frankly it's fun but more than I expected. The strange part is switching back to my Honda and trying to figure out why no one is looking at me

For anyone who is interested I posted a few pics in the gallery a little while ago. Try to ignore the dork in the Sunglasses trying to look cool in the new car. I have no idea who he is

Bannon,

I love it, the paint on SPF's is awesome. One question, it looks as though your rear view mirror is mounted to the glass. I assume that's for viewing out the rear window in the hardtop. Is this stock now or did you special order?

Thanks guys!

Chuck,
My understanding is that the mirror assembly is now standard. I did not order it that way. Bob Olthoff told me that it was his design and that he had tried to get them to put them on the cars at the factory for several years. I believe that you are correct, it is for better viewing with the hard top on. I did not chose the hardtop option, but I'm glad I can see out of that mirror because I sure as heck can't see anything out of the driver side mirror. Another SPF owner and I tried to adjust it by loosening the screw on the front. Now I can see the rear fender instead of the tire. Anyway it sure is fun!

You're right about the side mirror. I have mine aiming at the area just off the left rear tire, it helps a bit with the blind spot. I guess I should of expected it, but I find a lot of other drivers hang off the Cobra's rear flanks while driving. I suppose they're taking a look but it makes me nervous.

One more question, do you have the new parking brake setup (disk on the differential input hub)? If so, how well does it work?

Chuck

Thumbs up convex

Might want to try a convex mirror? Find one that fits the dia. of the fender mirror, fasten it over top of the original flat mirror with some two sided foam tape. Works like a charm!

Let me tell you a story about John (Bannon).... I met him about 3 yrs ago at VIR. Neither one of us had a cobra and we were lusting over the Spf at their big track event.. I was going the FFR way($) and John was determined to get a Spf.. he said then it would take him 5 years.. but by Gwad that was the only car for him and that was what he was gonna get..

Well 3 years later he got his dream car...........

And I got mine........

Now lets go to the Spring Fling
