Default Does anyone know of any good header paint?

Can someone give some good suggestions for some quality header paint? My headers are slowly starting to surface rust. I wanted to wait until I get my sidepipes to ceramic coat them, so I could do them all at once. However, I'm afraid the rust will slowly get to them...and I'd like to stop it. Meanwhile I will be running my engine for further break-in, and I don't want them to stink and turn white....

Any ideas will be appreciated as always.

Brent

I put the POR 20 high temp paint on my headers. Now I haven't run them yet, so I have no first hand experience, but I loaned the paint to a friend and he re-coated over another paint where it flaked off, and he hasn't had any problem.

I've used the POR 15 before, and it works great! I think this would do well, especially if you're going to use it as an intermediate step. What's great is that it only has to get to 300°F to reach full hardness, unlike other header paints that have to get to 600 or so.

The product is available online at www.porstore.com. They have very quick shipping.

If there is not going to be a long time before you have them ceramic coated don't sweat it. The company that you have do the ceramic will always sand or bead blast the exterior surface to prep for the coating. Any minor surface rust that has developed will easily be removed during that process.
