Sunday at the Airstrip..
Sunday turned out to be another spectacular day (three-straight days of blue sky and sunshine).
By the way, the unofficial count for Cobras on Saturday was 283. The cars caravan'd to the Madison County airstrip for a day of "play". http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...11880array.jpg One side of the runway was setup for Auto-X and one runway was set up, drag-strip style, with about an 1/8th mile run-up... no timing, but plenty of smoke and noise. Wayne, wtcobra, lit 'em up with the line-lock.. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d.../11880wtbo.jpg Several of the manufacturers were there all week-end, answering questions and having fun talking cars. Here is Bob Kallio (Midstates), Ron Rosen (SPF) and Tom Kirkham (Kirkham Motorsports).. Bob Marsh from SAI was here as well for most of the weekend. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...1880summit.jpg The Gasholes figured out how to stay (somewhat) out of trouble... ...by having a uniformed police officer with them at all times: http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d.../11880jcop.jpg ..you do, however, have to keep reminding him to hold onto his hat, under speed: http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...11880jambo.jpg We got a chance to see if Wilf would actually fit in a GT40; Hersh was glad to offer the opportunity. He did actually fit, but I believe Wilf will have to drive Hersh back to AZ, because I don't think he ever actually got out. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...1880wilf40.jpg The afternoon ended with many going on the Columbus parade, and others hitting the road for home. |
Great having you along for some rides Ron. Now--send me a high res of that cop looking through the Gasholes windshield sticker. That's just too darn good to pass up.:3DSMILE:

That is indeed a great picture--think of the possibilities. Thanks for the pics, Ron.
BTW, I do fit in Hersh's car--although it is tight. |
Jamo even fit in my gt40 for a ride down the cones at the airport.
All my pictures are at www.verycoolparts.com in the 2003 DV Spring Fling link. |
Wilf, do I detect a hint of sunburn?

You've got to admit it WAS a tight fit.:3DSMILE: http://www.gasholes.com/yabbse/galle...ayne40text.jpg |

HEY....THAT'S MEEEE!
..and YES, I do indeed know how to have a good time - Mardi Gras, or not! As a matter of fact, Mardi Gras has nothing to do with it...it's just yet another excuse for a party.
      |
Ron,
Was that Wilf in the GT 40??? Did he think he was getting in on the passenger side???? |
