Default Stains on Aluminum

Anybody had any luck removing stains from aluminum sheet, pulleys, wheels, etc.?

Most of my problems are probably from anti-freeze.

I know there has been some discussion on this forum regarding keeping aluminum parts from oxidizing... would probably apply that product once the stains are removed.

Thanks!

- Dan

hey dan, i spent a summer detailing harleys after college. we used eagle one on the chrome and aluminum this stuff works great. i use it all the time now. for tuff stains rub it on real good and let it sit for a few minutes. at the end of the summer i had no finger prints.

check out their website. you can get this at any auto store.

good luck!

Metal Wax is what I have used on my engine compartment pieces. Chemical-based, not grit-based. Love it so far!

Guys, thanks for all the info!

Duane, was out on the 'Mothers' site... are you using the Billet Metal Polish or the Mag and Aluminum Polish? Looks like the Eagle products are pretty similiar to the Mothers.

I have three types of aluminum; sheet, cast and billet... seems like the Mothers product is recommended for all three. But, the Metal Wax doesn't use any abrasives.

Decisions, decisions....

Thanks again,

- Dan
