Default Good News...It's here! Bad News.........

The good news.........

My SPF roller #1696 has arrived at Dynamic Motors in Ross, Ohio. I'm headed down to take a look and hopefully bring it home in the next few weeks. Got a deposit on a SA 427 to be built sometime in the next few months. Going slow with this project due to the health care needs of my parents.

By the way, Dean and Ron at Dynamic have been GREAT to work with. Highly recommended!

Need help..................

This is a Pontiac question and I ask it here because I have found this forum to have the most knowledgable car people I found. If I'm outta line by asking a non-Cobra question, please advise and I'll try to find somewhere else to get some good advice. Thanks to all.

I got my 67 GTO back from the garage after an extensive engine rebuild. It's a 400 ci and we put Edelbrack RPM heads on it, a new cam (medium street), Edelbrock Torker II intake and a 750 Holley. Car ran great ....for 75 miles.

Performace started to decline, black liquid spraying out the exhaust, missing and backfiring. Really bad. Took it back to the garage, 6 of 8 plugs fouled and mechanic said defective carb. He changed plugs and installed a new carb. The car ran great... for 75 miles.

It has started all over again, black spray, missing, backfiring, etc. It's headed back to the garage on Monday. Anyone have any idea what might be causing the plugs to foul after 50 to 75 miles? I don't think "defective" carb is the real answer.

Again, thanks for any help.
