Freddie...
I hate that I missed your "event". I was down the road enjoying (or at least eating) a Bojangles breakfast biscuit at the time. Next time you should stay at some of the hotels in Camden (where I live) about 20 minutes from the track. Also more restaurant selections in Camden vs. Kershaw (but not much). Hey, I got a couple of shots of you that I can email, but nothing involving "the event". |
Want to thank Jeff and Earl for hosting such a great event. Earl, thanks especially for allowing me to bring the SPF S1. My Cobra lost an alternator early on. When we ask at the NAPA and M and M parts stores for a one wire alternator, the response was "an't no such thing". "I've sold parts for 34 years and never heard of a one wire alternator". What year model car was that put on? Anyway, had a blast in the S1. I some respects it is more fun to drive on the track than the Cobra. Hope you will do it again and thanks to all the volunteers.
I don't know where your place is Earl, but if you ever stop into the Broken Spoke in Kershaw, be sure and thank Jerry and Karen for the hospitality and great steak. We got tied of pub grub and went across the street to the IGA and bought steaks and they cooked them for the Memphis gang. Then Flyin Freddie thanked them by singing, so you might not be welcome after all. Richard Price |
Ah beg your pardon, suh.....
'twasn't me singin' at all, suh....it was mu friend George Killian singin' doncha know. You'll know him by the red tint .....
Yes suh...me an Mike wanted to make sure those fahn South Carolinians didn't forget us...not one bit! An' I've always heard that infamous is as good as famous.... "I really do 'prreeeshiiiate the fact yer sittin' here.... Your voice sounds so won-der-ful, But, yer face don' look to clear..... So, Cowboy, bring a pitcher.... 'nother round of brew.... Honey, whaaaaaa don' we get drunk and screw.......?" It was really a tender love song....just from a different perspective..... |
FREDDIE,,,,
I saw it all!! YOUR SPIN was nothing short of spectacular!!! :D :D My brother saw the 2 feet tall flames come out of your side pipes from his vantage point in the flag stand. HE ACTUALLY CALLED IN THAT YOUR CAR WAS ON FIRE. then when it cranked right, it blew the fire out. BUT, for about 5 seconds, the fire truck WAS being scrambled. Glad you had a good time and but Please Dont Harrass the Locals. :) :) I had a Good time Planning and putting this event on with Jeff Collins. ANY ONE KNOW OF ANY GOOD JOBS for an event planner? A head Hunter? an Industrial Engineer? or a Cobra Builder? I NEED A JOB. earl |
TWO FOOT FLAMES...!
Wow....that's the first time I heard THAT! I thought it was just the grass, but there could have been some excess fuel in the side pipes caused by the centrifugal force of the spin.....DAAAAAYUMMMM!
Bet it looked cool, though....! THANKS to the Fire Crew...and to your brother for calling it in...! Nice to know someone was looking out for us out there! Remind me to buy your brother a cold beer next time I see him, will ya? I've got a couple of pictures from Keith McFarland (Excelguru) I'll post today after I resize them to fit. |

Here's my car early Sunday AM after the first run of the day...cooling down....hood up. Notice the 'Superformance Patio' in the left rear of the picture. That's Ron Froh's SPF#723 in the right background, and my new '03 Navigator right behind.
Fun times for all....in spite of my unplanned agricultural excursion during my next track session. Wish someone had a picture of all that.... :p I'd like to see it....! |
