If you are in CT. is there any reason to go elsewhere but to ERA.
Hell I am 3000 miles away and I had no reservations. The kits, rollers, Turn Keys have been debated ad infinitum. Everyone has opinions and we all share it freely. Go with ERA, you won't look back. TURK |
Thanks all for your comments. And WTF not tow my mini? I think the car and trailer together are about 1700 #'s. If my 525 Bimmer can do it, why not a 289 FIA? Or, would the manufacturer be embarrassed that the 1400# Mini isn't towing the "trailer queen" Cobra??...lol!
Bob ..What;s the maximum recomended weight? Do you remember Randy Hardigan? I think he was one of the original guys at ERA. I went to high school with he and his brothers... |

The previous hitch was made to be invisible when (easily) removed, and, because of that, the design had some limitations. I would like to limit the tongue weight to 150 lbs and trailer brakes would be very nice too. I'm just worried about the effect of adding 2000 lbs to the braking load. The Chassis will be fine with 1000 lbs force fore and aft, and 500 lbs vertical. Randy never worked for us, but he helped us a lot with the first car's details (which was his). |
Thanks Bob.
BTW, Gene Schiavone lives near me and was advertising his ERA Chassis #2 Cobra for sale in the Hartford Courand last month. Have you come a long way from the early cars with suspension development and ride comfort? Just curious, as it seems that I should purchase a completed or nearly car, than to build one. I've ridden in Bill Cadleys car that you guys built, and I am VERY IMPRESSED! Thanks. |
Guess I'll have to e-mail Bob directly...no worries...this is a next year project..no urgency....
