notdoneyet,
Maybe he feels like your raining on his parade.

He probably thought he was the "ONLY" cobra 'round here.

Notdoneyet,

Don't even bother with him. Several years ago when just I and one other guy here had Cobras in this area he wouldn't even drive in town if I was there. He was obsessed with winning at the car shows and I didn't even enter them, but when I finally asked him about his behavior his reply was " When people see your Cobra, it makes them think and I may lose votes at the shows." I never did understand that as his car was so far superior in looks to mine that even if I had entered a show there was no way I could compete with him. But later when a couple of others here built $100K plus Cobras that really were great for show, he sold his as he couldn't compete. Now we have about 7 in the area and at any one time it is really unusual if more than any two of the people are speaking to the others. So I just go driving and do my own thing like I always have and if anyone wants to talk to me about the car I am happy to talk to them. Just don't worry about him and if he wants to get to know you he will come around on his own.

I guess we're just blessed here in hotlanta. We probably have close to 20 cars of all makes, colors and setups. One of the best bunch of folks I've ever met. We're all fanatics about the hobby and support each other as needed. We have a blast every time we get together which is fairly often. It's what makes this game worth playing!

it's funny that you say that about the vettes, Jack... i'm in the process of doing my homework, and plan to have my first cobra in the spring. My buddy is a lifelong vette guy, and he's going to be trading his '91 in on a new Z04, about the same time frame.

should be interesting.
