why do so many tiny details just look "off", is it because pictures just don't show it very well? It has some parts of an FIA, some of an S/C, and some from a 289 car. The shifter for one looks different.

Many years ago, i wanted a Triumph TR-8 very much, but of course couldn't afford one. Then when production was discontinued, i was so discouraged, i bought practically without seeing it a worn out prototype coupe TR-8, from a shyster dealer, because i thought i could never get one if i did not jump on the deal. That car was a rag, and eventually i sold it and got a nice V8 TR-8, a much finer car.

So i too experienced the pitfalls of being too anxious to get a sports car. It is almost like saying it would be better for a prospective buyer of this sort of car to have someone not emotionally involved decide whether or not to buy such a car. Sometimes our friends are capapable of better decisons for us than we are ourselves.

Aint no FFR folks

ac andy 09-10-2003 06:48 AM

Who owns the real CSX 3036?

Andy.

4RE KLR 09-10-2003 06:52 AM

NO ONE!

Man the guy that buys this car will have great grounds for a lawsuit!

Where the heck is Jamo?

Woodz428 09-10-2003 07:22 AM

Did someone have a CSX # and put it on some type of replica? It shows a SW speedo and I thought they used Smiths. Also the bolt on wheels, rare option. I imagine CS's lawyers will be all over this.

The guy who owns this CSX3036 is probably sure he has the right one.:p

Actually, the ad states its a replica...so caveat emptor.

mickmate 09-10-2003 08:07 AM

REPLICA

If that's an "exact replica" I don't even want to see the original!

JerryH 09-10-2003 08:23 AM

It even has the original Kevlar body in near perfect condition. I suprised no one has jumped on this deal.

REAL 1 09-10-2003 11:34 AM

You can understand why the old man gets so pissed off.

computerworks 09-10-2003 11:40 AM

Who can sue who?

It's just a bunch of letters and numbers...
...he is not passing it off as an original..states that it is a replica.

If a state let's someone use CSXxxxx.... where's the crime? ..or the deception if you are not misrepresenting what the car is?
It's not a legit assigned VIN, which has more digits.

Woodz428 09-10-2003 12:01 PM

It was stated that it is a replica, but from the wording would lead someone (with the CSX#)to believe it is an original chassis at least. I don't know how many #'s are in an original, but thought it was enough. Accuracy does leave a little to the imagination.

mrmustang 09-10-2003 12:11 PM

Actually the trouble will start when the owner of the real CSX3036 finds out, as you can only have one specific VIN in the DMV system at a time. If and when this car is sold, and should that car get sold in to a state which recipricates with other states in reagrds to sharing DMV records, a BIG RED FLAG will go up on both of them..................Lawsuits will follow as to who owns the proper rights to the serial number itself.............

computerworks 09-10-2003 12:20 PM

nawww... it's a no-brainer...

owner states it was bulit in the 90's..no question who owns the number.

If it was registered in the 90's, it would have a longer VIN Number.

Bill ...was the CCX number on your last car the total VIN, or did the VIN contain more digits?

snakeeyes 09-10-2003 12:28 PM

At least it's the original "Guardian" blue.

klayfish 09-10-2003 12:38 PM

Somebody shoot it and see if the body really is Kevlar! :D

Seriously, anyone have any idea what it really is? I wonder how he would be able to register it using CSXxxxx. Generally VIN numbers are assigned, not picked. Hmmmm.....

Steve

MAXVELO 09-10-2003 12:47 PM

did you say # are picked?

In that case, I would like (CSX0001)

Jamo 09-10-2003 12:59 PM

You guys come running to the law too easily. This requires "special" handling...

I think a visit to the seller from "Amos", who ought to be released in few days (seven years because the damn warthog died), would convey how all of us, not just CS, feel about miserable basturds that pull this crap.

I bill double for that kind of advice.
