CSX 4148 on e-bay

Ok,

Didn't this car just change hands at spring fling? As I recall it was traded for a 1984 Porsche 930 with 7300 miles and a complete CSX roller. $85k seeems like a really good deal...

KobraKarl 10-01-2003 08:45 PM

Eeeeeeehh..............by the time you add $10.000 for paint its not much of a deal :D

KK,

This is a GREAT deal if in fact it goes for a mere $85K. I have driven this car. It may not handle as well as some out there and doesn't have quite the umph under the hood as some other BBs but it sounds great, runs fast enough to scare all but the bravest non-cobra owner and is a real head turner. No need for paint. That beautiful aluminum finish screams out that it is an alloy car and that is obviously important to the true value of the automobile --- at least for some folks. However, should paint be the choice, even if you threw another $20K on for paint, it is still a "real" cobra and worth another $20K on top of that .... isn't it?

Turk 10-01-2003 10:51 PM

I wonder if I should contact the current bidders and offer a nicer CSX4310 for less......

Jamo 10-02-2003 01:40 AM

Assolutely...

"Buy it Now" for $135,000 and throw in the Porsche.

Gas_in_my_veins 10-02-2003 05:40 AM

Just curious...

What does the description mean by 'usual/typical aluminum flawes'?

Thanks,

Rich

someone should notify REAL1, as im sure he would see this as the deal of the millenium, im sure he will jump all over this to make himself a small fortune.......:3DSMILE:

"What does the description mean by 'usual/typical aluminum flawes'?"

:D His Jade East is extra!

KobraKarl 10-02-2003 07:25 AM

Cracker 10-02-2003 07:47 AM

Edited to be nicer!:JEKYLHYDE

It's a gorgeous car that seems to have been made right - despite Turk's involvement.%/

Turk 10-02-2003 07:48 AM

I would guess the imperfections of aluminum as compared to a molded fiberglass. After all it is a car that is hand built, panel by panel, and no two will be identical.

I found out that the fiberglass lovers will fault any alloy car, yet those who love aluminum cars will embrace it, warts and all.

All kidding aside, it is a great car. It took another CSX and a Porsche thrown in to pry it out of my hands. Best part of it is, it is California legal. That in itself is becoming more and more a desired quality in ANY Cobra nowadays.

I miss my car.

Dan Semko 10-02-2003 07:56 AM

Turk, Your car MISSES you!
I'll make you such a deal.....$13k above the highest ebay bid PLUS my 930 and she's yours again.:D

Had to up the buy back because the bids jumped!:D

rem 10-02-2003 08:01 AM

i tell you what though, the more i see aluminum bodies on these things, (unpainted), the more obvious to me it becomes that that is what i need!!:3DSMILE:

REAL 1 10-02-2003 10:36 AM

Why does it say the current bid is $124K???

I'm confused.:JEKYLHYDE

Specialk 10-02-2003 10:47 AM

Evan,

It's because my name is in the listing.

Turk 10-02-2003 10:48 AM

If Dan won't sell it at that price, I will sell mine.

TURK

ST 10-02-2003 10:56 AM

$124K and says the reserve is NOT met.
This can't be right, could it?

Turk 10-02-2003 11:05 AM

I think it is probably worth around $180,000 or something like that.

Which part of that car is made out of solid gold?

Turk 10-02-2003 11:50 AM

Dave,
None of it. If it was, it would be worth a lot more!

TURK
