Fuel lines vs. fuel rails

Reading that post about Colorado Cobras and Momar injection got me thinking...

Instead of running fuel rails with an FI system, could you run fuel lines instead -- like this?

It sure would go far to make a system look even more like our beloved Webers... Just an idea.

If not, maybe a non-billet fuel rail would be cool. Something that looked "retro". Or how about hard fuel lines. Could also be made to look vintage...
