Who has built a Street Version?
You know no roll bar, sidepipes, or hood scoop, God forbid, no stripes
This is going to be my second kit and I am considering a toned down sleeper, any comments?

Look on ERA's website, they have a beautiful 289FIA done up like a street car, no hoop etc etc.
It's basically how I plan to do mine. BTW, what kit?

Mine is pure street. Solid color, no stripes. No roll bar. Top & sidewindows, tonneau, heater/defroster that works (but no AC yet), sterio, comfortable seats, plush interior (even has courtesy lights). Does have hood scoop w/ grille, and sidepipes w/ heatshields. And 17" Team III wheels.

Personally I really like the street car. Alot. It has an elegance the S/C doesn't have and it will be different and stand out in a sea of S/C and Comp cars. A real home run would be to land some Sunburst wheels.
Resale may be tougher due to most wanting the S/C motif. But who cares about resale. Go for it. I think the street car is outstanding.
You also can put in a 428 as opposed to the more costly 427SO and be absolutely correct in engine choice.

I'm not even sure if resale will really be that low. It may be a bit harder to sell, as there aren't a million people looking for a street car. But, when those people are looking, they don't have too many options.
I want to do a 289FIA, and have it look like a street car. (Yeah yeah, there were none) I want a small block...but don't want to put a small block in a 427, but will if I have to.
Almost daily driver, so I don't want sidepipes. EFI, so why bother with a mean looking scoop. Roll bar? I was thinking of single hoop (no third leg) on either driver's or both. I like the look without it...but god forbid I flip the car.
Bumpers instead of quickjacks.
I was originally thinking silver....but now looking at a metallic green or british racing green.

Street Car...
Bob P.
Is that Jim Wright's car?
Looks a lot like it, one of the nicest cars I have seen, excellent workmanship and a mean "stealth" look in street trim.
Rick
BTW, He no longer has car having caught that "Harley" fever...

I like the look. Cleaner, sportier, more muscular and less ostentatious.

Bob,
Wouldn't you rather have a rep in Southern California instead?

CC member Traveller has (had? I haven't seen him post in a long time) a really nice ERA "street" version in red. Traveller, if you're out there, how about a picture or two?

No STG, Bob will no doubt want someone in the central part of the state, plus these ERA'S will be for sale, not for the section 8 and welfare lovers of LA

Thanks Bob P.
My wife loves the idea, now all I have to do is convince her that purple was not a stock color.
On one of the other photos you have posted the Cobra has wire wheels, what make? And which wheels were the original issue for the Street Cobra? How many were street and how many were S/C?
Sorry just trying to get my mind made up.
