Default SPF and stiff suspension

I had met SPF owner at a car show a while back who told me that the car with a small block is "over sprung" (the springs are too stiff for the car). He said changed the springs out would lower the car about and inch and really improve the ride and handeling. I have had my car corner weighted along with most of the bushing changed out. Has anyone changed out their springs and found this to be the case?

Older chassis numbers (1015-ish and below) had AVO shocks and springs. One trick was to swap the front springs with the rears, but that was if you thought you were running too stiff over the rear. If not, you might want to leave it.

Chassis number 1015-ish and newer has Bilstiens (actually they began the change somewhere between 1000 and 1060) and they ride better all around.

Or you could opt for Snakebite Motorsports QA-1 shcok/spring set up from the SPF dealer in Ohio at (513)738-4000, or call Olthoff racing for their special Bilstien race shocks (NOT the same Bilstiens as comoing from the factory) at (704)647-9924.

I went with the special race shocks from Olthoff and I love them...Makes the car much more controllable at the edge of the envelope.

I too went with the Olthoff's Race Bilstein shocks. Big improvement over the original AVO's. Much smoother on the street and greatly improves handling.
