Who-or-WHAT hurt COBRAS the most?
During the last three years I have been here, there has been many debates if Shelby was responsible for todays Cobra or not.
Let's leave Shelby out of this and look at the state of Cobra Today. Let's not talk about who is or was responsible for Cobra, let's for a change talk about who is going to be responsible for the demise of Cobra What do you think is the biggest threat to our hobby. What do you think has or will hurt Cobras/Replicas the most? I have a few I can name. State of California Insurance Companies Irresponsible drivers Racers Resale values dropping Other funs cars to buy instead Replica manufacturers themselves Ebay Gasholes Curt Scott Proliferation of foreign cars Unions Waxers NASA Dan Rather TURK What do you think? |
Semkos...and Evan, of course.:JEKYLHYDE

I blame fast food. McDonalds is making me fat and it is more difficult to fit in the cars.
Anyone interested in a class action suit? Now all we need is a lawyer with a BigMac sized ass to represent us.... Hmmm where could we find one of those??  |
A good one?
I don't know.:3DSMILE: TURK |
Stupid reply - read below. Self edited.

Don't be surprised. I did say, "let's leave him out of it". Hard to believe since he was NOT responsible for Cobra in the first place he would be responsible in it's demise.
This wasn't supposed to be a heavy thread. Lighter reading is what I had in mind. TURK |
The "Global Warming" activists. Here in the UK you are EVIL if you drive any car, and Satan's brother if you drive something like a Cobra.
Politicians see this situation as manna from heaven. Tax, tax, and tax again. Don't get me started on Global Warming. It is, IMHO, the greatest con perpertrated on the western world yet. When are they going to stop cows from passing wind, they emit more "greenhouse gasses" than all the cars in the world. When are they going to ban volcanoes, which push millions of tonnes of "greenhouse gasses" into the atmosphere each month? When are they going to wake up and realise that the so-called "hydrogen economy" ain't gonna happen? Look, you've upset me know, I am going out to plant a tree. Best way ever to sequester CO2. Wilf |
Gen X 'tuners' who prefer the whining of an high-revving 4 banger to the sweet symphony of a big block with sidepipes.

Turk,
That is a trick question but the answer is obvious. Right now if you are reading this you are staring right at the answer. |
Our government is the single biggest threat to the hobby. Backed up by ecologist and social do-gooders.

Sorry TURK. I'm just learning to read (the whole post)! I was passing through Vacaville last Monday and wondering which Car Store you were working. Some day I'd like to stop by and say hello - after reading your bio on Gasholes I was impressed. Now back to the REAL LIGHT thread.
351's & variants. Just kidding. Rice rockets who don't appreciate the musclecar heritage like the post above. |
The only threat is Gasholes getting old and not being able to drive them anymore. I forgot about Gashole wives who are also getting old and getting "in our way".
If "greenhouse gass" bothers you, go out and buy a Toyota Prius to equalize your protion of contamination or buy a bicycle and show it off next tou your Cobra. Shin |
Chrysler is what is killing the Cobra market. They introduced the PT Loser and the whole car hobby was put one foot in the grave.
And for those that own PT Losers "Get over it! It's just a 4 door neon dressed up like a whore!" |

My vote goes to government and also the average American's non-involvement in writing their elected officials to influence the same. How you can not want to shoot the person behind the counter getting a car registered in CA is beyond me.
Insurance cos. do not ruin this business, they only react to irresponsible behavior which results in loss via calamity claims. |
Cranky,

Computer GEEKS that don't know how to turn a wrench!

Cracker,
If after reading my bio you still want to stop and say hello, please do. I live in Vacaville, but the store I work at is in Fairfield, another 8 or so more miles west. It will be on your right hand side as you are going towards San Francisco. It is called WOODARD CHEVROLET CADILLAC. TURK |

Cute: I'm a pilot or at least was a pilot so I hope to know which way West is - at least my right.%/ I'll give fair warning when back West. |
EDLEY!... did you hack Turk's log-on? Shame on you.
