I donīt want to know nothing about pilgrim.. I have one pilgrim but I want a better one. I want to buy the one from the pictures. but I donīt know the manufacteur... Can you help me on that.

I am in negotiations to buy it..
When I went to the guy that is selling it I took some fotos. Those are the only one that I have. And the dealer is far from my home.. But I think it is KCC South African Kit.. But not sure.. Can you tell me, by the pictures, are the components from the car good? Does it has a good finish? The paint work is excelent and it sounds great.. But what about the others things? Those dunlop callipers.. Is that good? I think that the engine bay is beatiful but what are yours opinions? the car runs fast handles very well and the brakes are good. |

Pedro - By cobra standards the car looks worn. While that's not entirely bad since it is the object of having such things. I must admit that I'm clueless regarding this make and not knowing the price involved could be steering you the wrong way. However, based on your pictures that show the drivetrain and interior I would pass on this car and wait for another one. There are so many available these days to take advantage of that have truly been loved and cared for by comparison. Best wishes!

Well, I forgot to tell you a thing. In Portugal there are (that I know) only to cobras.. , wich I really canīt call cobra that has a 4 cilinder engine and this one..
If it isnīt this one, I must keep mine.. Can you be more exact about the things you donīt like.. Because I was looking by the pictures from this forum gallerie and all the cars are similar to this one... |

If you look in my gallery you will see an example of an average car. The acculation of grease, oil and dirt is not nearly that of which I viewed in your gallery. If this is not the car your speaking of then direct me to the right gallery or location. Although authenticity is not a huge issue with me some manufactures go way out of there way to be non-exact. From what I can tell with the interior shots this car would apply. However, if this is 1 of 2 in the entire country I guess your choices are limited. Best wishes again.

Considering the location this looks like a very nice Cobra to me!
In England, as Wilf has noted, very FEW Cobras actually have a Ford V-8. MAny are V-6's or smaller I would guess! Chevy power is also common. Here in Portugal your looking at a genuine Ford V8 small block, that alone is note worthy! Like here in the Hawaiian Islands were not talking about a LOT of cars to choose from! The fact that "many" are available at a "good price" only applies to the USA mainland! It certainly aint true "here on island". I would suspect it would cost several thousand to ship one into Portugal. Making the one in question a potentially good deal! And by the way, I don't think it looks "that bad". I kind of like it! The "grease" on the suspension components simply tells me someone has actually DRIVEN the car and the "bugs" are worked out! Maintainence has been done, the car looks like a "real world" ride, not some trailor queen. The motor looks nice with the valve covers and air cleaner, cool. It's got the coil over up front to. Now I don;t care for the automatic trans, but other than that, from the pics, I can't see anything "bad" about it! Ernie |

Cracker's car is hardly average. Your pictures do show a car that's had a bit of use, but that's okay--they were meant to be driven. The interior looks to be in good shape; from the pictures it's hard to tell the condition of the paint and body work. KCC is still in business, so you should be able to get any needed parts. There is no shortage of Ford 5.0 engines, so if it breaks, you can find another easily, even from Portugal. If it sounds, performs, rides and handles well by your standards, then the only question is whether the price is reasonable. All of these things need work sooner or later. With all due respect Pedro, why would you even consider a right hand drive car when Portugal and all the countries around it, are left hand drive countries?

Pedro, I'm not trying to be a hard nosed know it all, in fact, after reading the latest posts I KNOW I'm not. In the end whether your spending $500K on an original or 10K on a budget what makes you happy is above all other factors. With that said, your original question was for some direction based on what you provided and I might back off some of what I said based on learning more.

Portugal makes part of the EU, but some legal questions are different from country to country.. And in Portugal is almost impossible to make a registration of a cobra.. Mine has been regitered a few years ago. And when it was there was no problem. But now it is impossible. The only chance is if the car is an historical (till 75). This one is(by rgistration). So it is possible to make the registration. About beeing RHD.. I can change that in a near future.
I really would like your opinion by the look of the pictures is if the car have good components.. If not please say.. I think that those inboard rear disks are fantastic.. but because here there are no kits I canīt compar. In Portugal there are few 8 cilinder engines.. because we pay taxes for the cc...
