Who has driven their Cobra to WORK?

I drive a '93 Corvette to the office (it looks brand new) and I occasionally get some minor @#$% from co-workers about "Oooooh....drives a 'Vette", etc.
Based on these experiences alone, I would probably NEVER drive a Cobra to the office, even under the best conditions and even if it was my only mode of transportation (assuming the daily driver was sick).
Do you keep your Cobra a secret from co-workers, or do you just let them find out via other ways?

I have driven to work many times. Given co-workers many rides.

Not a problem. However, the vette owner gets the ooohh he drives a vette all the time.

A$$olutely not ! Have several requests as to why I don't drive it more. The fact that we had one of the wettest years on record did not help. The fact the office is in the suburbs of louisville and no parking garages on city traffic makes it that much easier to get in and out. It's really great to have a short day and the cobra in the parking lot
If you have a cobra you are going to get noticed. How you deal with it says a lot about the person driving the car

I've driven mine several times to work. No problems (course I work around the police communications building so security is not a problem)

I have driven my cobra to work when I was able to park it where I could see it from my office. As you may know, most insurance companies WILL NOT cover your cobra if you drive it to work, use it for errands, etc. This is my major concern!!!
It would really suck if I came out of work and my car was gone. However, it would exponentially suck if one would have to eat the cost of a cobra because the insurance company failed to cover the loss.

I drive mine all the time unless its raining, too cold or I'm working on it. Guess I really should mention I'm only one freeway exit away from work! There are many "high end" autos in the parking garage at work, but the Cobra really draws a crowd or comments.
As to when driving and parking for day to day use, I have never had any negative issues, (things taken from the car,CD's, books, tools, etc.) or any scratches or doors being opened hitting the car. I leave it parked at the Mall, shopping center and on the street, a majority of the time out of view. I really haven't given any mind to someone stealing it on account of never hearing of one being stolen, also I have insurance.

Drive it to work whenever weather permits. Insurance covered as regular auto. It's to drive, folks.

I drive the 25 miles down the 405 once in while in the Cobra. Inching along in bumper to bumper traffic is not what it's made for, though. It's great to drive it in on Holidays when the traffic's light. I've taken most of my friends out for lunch in the car and thay all got a chacnce to drive, too. Now, whenever the discussion about who has the fastest car comes up, it quickly becomes, who has the second fastest car!

		Well,
I have driven my Cobra replica to work many times over the last 4 years and I have never done it without giving at least one person a ride. The only problems come in "rush hour" traffic when it seems every bozo in an uninsured heap wants to get a close look! I have never had a problem to date, and I will continue to drive it every chance I get because I bought it to drive!!

I stopped taking the Cobra to work some time ago.

With a lot of employees on minimum wage, I don't feel comfortable rubbing their noses in it by parading the boss's toy.

Not that I feel ashamed of having worked hard and got on, nor of having saved enough pennies and gone without other things for such a toy, I just feel it could be not in the best interests of employee relations.

Of course, there is a converse argument that people may feel better working for someone who is demonstrably succesful? Who knows.

Driving to work is the best. I live in the country and take the river road to the Plant. 15 miles one way, two lane hwy. I work at a Nuclear Power plant, (50 armed guards on duty) I leave my keys in it at work. I could leave a roll of $100's on the seat and it would be there when I leave the Control Room to go home.

I drove mine every once in a while to use it for doing bump steer, cg height and miscellaneous chassis projects when teaching my high performance suspension and steering class at the local community college.

Well said! That's exactly how I feel....I really wouldn't want to flaunt my good fortune. There is just too much downside vs. the upside.

Tom made a very good point above. If you teach automotive specialties for a living, then the Cobra platform makes for an "exciting" opportunity for the students.

I drive it when it is cool enough. The bosses like it, one goes on our hwy 78 drive with us in his Miata. It sits where I can see it and we have people pop in and ask about it. I feel wierd taking it on service calls though.

Doug has the right idea... I drive it, park it and walk away from it... I just turn off the key and get away from it as fast as I can or else I'm going to have to stand around answering questions for twenty minutes...
Absolutely no problems so far...

I'm a free-lance video editor, so it depends if the facility where I work has a parking lot. In that case, all the time.
If it's street parking blocks away, I'm just not that brave - not because of theft as much as vandalism or SUV's using it as a backstop.

If I drove mine to work a couple times per month (Which I don't) I would think it would really make my day go better. I would leave early (If I drove it to work, which I don't) I would also probably be late getting home (But this doesn't happen since I don't drive it to work).
