We bought a fake tree this year. Got tired of sorting through the crappy ones the last couple of years and having to pay $70 - $90 for a decent 7 foot tree.
Got it at Costco for $170. 9 footer with 1800 lights pre hung. Just take it out of the box and plug it in. Spend about 1/2 hour fluffing up the branches and it looks damn good. And no bugs. Last year the damn tree had a bunch of slugs crap in it that didn't wash out when I hosed off the tree and they found their way to the carpet.
Kinda funny watching a kid about to open a present and she sees a little slug on it.
