Gifts for the "Significant Other."
So, what are you guys buying for the missus, your better halves, your "Significant Others?" You know, the stuff that you have to expend to keep yourselves' butts in that Cobra seat! Jewelry? Nothing says "Please let me drive my Cobra some more" than gold and diamonds. Maybe a kitchen remodelling job? How about a new Lexus or BMW for the little lady? Or is she more keen on an H2? Maybe you've got her snookered, and she lets you drive your Cobra, just to keep you quiet, and to get you out of her hair for a few hours!

Matching broom and dustpan that just happens to match the vacuum I got her for our anniversary.
For Valentine's I'm getting here a new stove that will match the fridge.
please make note of the thought and consideration put into these gifts. It's not easy getting things that match time after time.

You go John!!! Did she say YES or are you popping the question?
I am doing the photo printer as well. Paper and cables. Had to visit Victoria's Secret store. This is a place you can feel humble, stupid and down right ignorant.
The rest are things she asked for.
Congrates to John -- an engagement ring is major!!!

I really struggled this year with the Right gifts.
I decided I wanted to get my wife something from Victoria Secrets so I went in to look around one day last week. I fondled a few things they had on display then I finally asked one of the young girls there If I picked some things out if she would model them for me. She called security.
I ended up at one those stores where one size fits all (jewlery store). Not very original but I think it will work. However, I do like the idea of a matching walnut trimmed broom and dust pan. I wonder if I could also find her a matching walnut carrying tray for her Windex and Pledge?

I stopped in to my regular jewelers and mentioned to the owner that is was time to decide how good my wife has been this year. He said that he'd heard she'd been VERY VERY good. His evaluation led to gold and opal earings to match the big opal pendant she got two years ago.
The earings will be inside the bowl of the stand mixer she'll be getting as a gag gift. She's mentioned a new stand mixer but has mentioned before that, unless I like sleeping in the garage, she'd better never get anything like that as a gift. Not that I ever would but it's nice to have the information to jerk her chain.
She usually gets her jewelry gifts in the toe of a pair of socks but this year I decided to branch out.

I got my wife and daughter a tanning bed. I am sure my daughter in-law will be using it along with all my 17 year old daughters friends.
I asked Santa for a mini-cam.

Edley,
The term "significant other" has been bastardized and should not be used to describe a wife...
That's a term used when you want to identify your "better half" as the guy next door or your heardresser.....
Merry CHristmas.....
nice to see you back :

OK, a shameless plug.........
This early 1965 Mustang convertible has lead a fairly sheltered (not a cream puff, but not a clunker either) life having been off the road from 1974 till 1998. In 1998, the car was taken apart, and new quarter panels, door skins, fenders, floors and a black convertible top were installed. The car was painted at that time as well. The original engine was replaced with one out of a 1968 Mustang, and is still a 289 2V with the C4 automatic transmission, power top and original AM radio (NOS antenna kit comes with the car). Car has less than 70,000 original miles. Smokes a little on startup, think the carb needs to be rebuilt from sitting unused for the last three years, I would probably drain the old gas out of the system as well. Car needs some detail work on the interior (arm rests on doors, drivers seat cover, and misc nuts and bolts). Exterior wise, the paint is a 8.5 on a scale of 1-10, there are some nicks and scratches, and one small dent on the drivers side door where something fell against the car while it was in storage. Recently sold the storage property, so now it is sitting in my backyard, and must be sold soon. Let's face reality here, the car is certainly not a $20,000+ show car, but a nice $10,000 rust free, driver. Work on the detail parts when you feel like it. Get in, drop the top, and go cruising. After all, that is why this car was originally built. Asking price is $9,900 obo. I'm tough on my descriptions, don't like to pull punches, or try to hide things, would rather underestimate the cars condition, than over estimate it. Serious responses only please.

I got mine one of those new fangled clothes dryers,it's solar powered. You just tie it between two trees and hang clothes on it,in about an hour they are dry and smell good too, unless it's raining then drying takes a lot longer. This gift matches last years gift of a scrubbing board. It sure beats a rock down at the creek.
What will they think of next? Wife just read this and she says I'm full of $^&%. Some Christmas spirit huh?
