Hello blykins,
Clamp your vice grips on whats left of the stud. Make sure the teeth of your vice grips are in good, clean condition. Next carefully apply heat, with a propane or mapp gas torch, to as much of the exposed area around the stud that you can get at. Keep applying heat while gently trying to rotate stud counter clockwise. When the area around the stud (stud boss) heats up enough, the stud should start to loosen. Carefully back it out by rotating stud back and forth. Apply heat as needed until the stud is out .
Good Luck.

Did you get the stud out yet? What kind of oil are you using? Try PB blaster it does wonders. If you are still fighting it let me know. I do this kind of thing for a living and may be able to help.
